Feb 27, 2024I haven't been the most positive about how Waller is being portrayed nowshe seems to be a one-dimensional villain in many portrayals, rather than the ruthless and nuanced figure that we've seen from writers like John Ostrander in the past. Fortunately, while Williamson is still writing her as (and in many ways set her up as) the biggest villain in the DCU right now, he's also able to peel things back a little and show what hides behind the scenes. Im not quite sold on the cliffhanger nor do I buy Amanda Wallers angle yet. However, we will see how this story progresses given a few more issues. Gotta say, I did NOT expect that at the end. This series is one of Josh Williamsons best. He has a good feel for Ollie's core cast of characters.

Nice to see GA at the center of Big Happenings in the DCU as he squares off against Waller. I'm not crazy about his upcoming mission, which ties in to one of my most-hated comics stories in DC history. The art was sensational, though I do miss Hester's fill-ins.

A pretty solid issue here that gained more interest from me towards the end. I like the aspect of Ollie feeling disconnected from everyone else, and it's also nice to see Izaakse back on interiors.

This is a decent issue. I find it interesting that that functionally Green Arrow is the series that ties all the Dawn of DC story together. He somehow is getting the raw end of the deal from all the other heroes as he tries to put his family together. With all that being said though it feels like this takes a bit of agency out of his character when he is always responding to the events around him. Kind of bothers me. Amanda Waller is overused. It is getting a bit cumbersome. I hope that big Absolute Power event later this year knocks her out as she is way overexposed and annoying at this point. Art is good. I still like this series but feels like drew me in on this issue. Also bringing back Sanctuary is a terrible idea. I hate t more

I haven't been a fan of this book since it started. I just don't think Williamson gets Green Arrow. He's a street-level crime fighter. He started it with him hiding in a multi-verse. Now he's chasing Arsenal. Waller and Peacemaker simply walked into the Hall of Justice without a court order and started stealing things. WTF. Plus Batman hasn't implemented any security measures? Yeah, right. Then he links the book to one of the most hated series in all of comic history - Heroes in Crisis. If there wasn't just a few issues left, I would drop it -- again.
