Line up for this all-new maxiseries set on Earth X, where the Nazis won World War II! Twenty years after invading and occupying America, Germany wiped out all metahuman resistance, including the original Freedom Fighters.
Fast-forward to the present day, and a new team of Freedom Fighters emerges to challenge the Nazi occupation once again. But if they're to have any chance of victory, they're going to need Uncle Sam-who disappeared after his original team was killed. The 12-part epic "Death of a Nation" storyline kicks off here!

There will be a groups of people who will say that this book is either too patriotic or it is stating a political agenda. Of course, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but before everyone gets their unfurled flag, well…..furled; comic books are entertainment and this book is definitely high-class entertainment. By the time I reached the last page I was already hooked and more than a little annoyed I'm going to have to wait another month for the next issue. This could be another big title for DC in 2019 so don't miss getting on board right away. Read Full Review

With this being the first issue, especially with a rather surprising and hopeful ending, I have no idea what's going to come in the following eleven. Still, I'm curious to see what other messages pop up and I wonder what we will be able to glean from them as a society. Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett

The issue is a fantastic start with highs and lows. There's lots of action, hope, despair, and more hope. It's a rollercoaster that's both escapist and a reflection on today's reality and what was. We're in a real world fight against a rise of far right ideology and fascism and a second rise of Nazi beliefs. To get a comic with some good ole Nazi punching is quite welcome. Read Full Review

Venditti's going to have to whip out a time portal or a cryogenic chamber or an iceberg or something, I'm sure he'll pull off something credible, though, and with some incredible art from Barrows, I'm looking forward to the next eleven issues and, hopefully, beyond. Read Full Review

While the characters weren't established for new readers as much as I would have liked, I did have a blast reading this issue, which seems weird for how dark the book's subject matter is.  The art is fantastic though and we have ourselves a team that I can't wait to see more of........ I just hope that this maxi-series can maintain the momentum that this issue created. Read Full Review

    Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield

This isn't a perfect comic, as we don't really get to know either of the two teams in the issue, but it does a very good job of immersing us in its disturbing world. We're immediately invested, and that's a big part of success. Read Full Review

There has been some real thought put into this which I heartily enjoyed and although a knowledge of previous work would be useful, this is an easy jump-on point for anyone looking for something a little different. Freedom Fighters delivers a rowdy initial issue and I will definitely be considering adding this to my pull list. Read Full Review
