While I hate that there is a need for it in the first place, Lobdell is successfully redeeming Wally. I still retain hope that Wally can regain his standing as one of DC's foremost characters. Flash Forward #4 keeps the momentum going for this series in the best way possible. It shouldn't be considered a spoiler to say that Linda shows up in this issue. She is, after all, on the main cover and the alternate cover. That she is here is not necessarily groundbreaking either, but it does show that Wally is maybe on his way back to what he once was. An entire generation of comic readers grew up with Wally as their Flash, and this might be the route by which he comes back to them. As such, this series and this issue are accomplishing much of what fans really want, and should be on everyone's reading list. Read Full Review

While I continue to really enjoy the art, the story just isn't doing it for me because the action isn't all that exciting and the side elements are pretty much "Wally West, this is your life!", where characters close to Wally show up in different forms so he can get over that whole mass murderer thing.  Yeah, I wish it was a better series overall, but there are still elements to this book that make me want to keep coming back each issue. What a wonderful day ! I’m finally reunited with my kids and I found out I have a back-up-Linda I can date on an alternate universe, you know, just in case ! It’s like everything’s going to be fine ! Right ?

Prelude: Flash Forward has been really enjoyable so far so let's see how Lobdell goes with this issue as we near the sixth and final issue. The Good: Wally has his kids back! For now anyway, I have very little hope of DC keeping that. Booth's art is good. It was nice having him interact with a Linda. The Bad: The issue doesn't feel like it's moving much which is concerning with how little issues the series has. Conclusion: A good issue but I'm concerned for the overall story as we only have two issues left. Add the Mobius chair and the other parts of the story, and I fear for Lobdell to finish this well.

I liked it. Sue me. I didn't like the rhyming from Superdemon and the kiss was weird but I was happy to see Wally and Linda run together. I also just really like the art. Booth sells books for me. The story is all over the place and suffers from the same issues I had in the second issue with creating weird characters that do nothing but at least the last issue had a Roy moment and this has a Linda one. I'm invested.

It's a shame DC didn't use their chance with Doomsday Clock to retcon events of Heroes in Crisis, and instead continue to release comics like this one, which don't add much to the mythos nor helps the character to, well, move orward. Yes, he's a hero, yes, he misses his family, and yes, he apparently went against all the character development he received throughout the years and has become a murderer, which now, other than being mentioned, serves no purpose, since Wally is just fully reformed and a heroic as always. Which makes you wonder who the hell thought butchering and dehumanizing him in Heroes in Crisis was a half decent idea. Okham's razor - if it sucks, cut it out, retcon it, forget about it forever. In a way, Flash Forward remi nds me of this entire Dark Multiverse one offs, all telling alternate versions of famous DC comics, but not contributing to anything in any meaningful way. They are jusst that - diposable one offs. And I have a feeling this series isn't much better, with all the different worlds being there for no real reason, than to show Wally in a positive, heroic light, and help him get his family back. You're not missing much if you don't follow this run. It's decent, some of it scenes can be enjoyable, but overall, I don't think it's something extraordinary and meaningful. Albeit seeing Linda and Wally together is always nice. more

Oof, this is bad. First off, the rhyming here is atrocious. You're a writer, Lobdell, why are you only ever approaching slant rhymes? And second, this issue is full of weirdness. Why is there a kiss between Lightspeed and Wally right after Wally rejects her? Just so we can have that moment? Okay, well, speaking of cliches, that ending. That's fucking abysmal. This is just not very well written.

In what world does “name” rhyme with “Etrigan”. Also it’s weird that he’s taking such a passive tone about the mass murder he committed. “Oh no, all the heroes who died… because of me.” Do you mean “Oh no, all the people I murdered”? Because that’s who they actually are.
