While I would rather that Wally had never been brought to the low point he was at, Lobdell is doing a decent job so far of redeeming the character. Booth's art is fantastic. He took the fast moving tone and pace of this issue and ran with it (no pun intended). The characters are constantly on the move and there is a sense of energy and motion in the art itself as the story unfolds. Read Full Review

While the premise of this issue remains the same with Wally West casting out darkness with a cosmic rod, throughout the Multiverse.  This issue does show you that there's a background plan to all of this to make Wally West a true hero again in facing his past and his mistakes.  I enjoyed the art for the most part and loved seeing Wally and Roy killing vampires and really look forward to the second leg of this series. You have to admit this issue was pretty cool. Sure, I let Roy die again but, on the bright side, the only people I killed were already dead this time ! Aaaaaand I was able to see Robert Pattinson's Batman before everyone else, which explains the bad reviews : You're all pretty jealous. See you next month guys ! I can't wait to become a daddy again ! Let's just hope I don't lose the kiddos AGAIN ...

Prelude: Flash Forward has been quite good so far, let's see if Lobdell keeps up the pace. The Good: It's great seeing Wally so fast again but also wondering where his newfound speed is coming from. Roy was great this issue and his mini-arc with Wally was really well done. Art is quite good. It's nice to see that Lobdell is continuing Wally's arc for redemption after being King-ed. The Bad: Story doesn't move much in this issue. Conclusion: While we get very little progression in the larger story, this was a great issue for Wally's personal arc and exploration of his powers.

I didn't hate this nearly as much as other people did. It's definitely moving too fast but I appreciate what they were trying to do in having Wally really feel something about Roy dying even if it's used a bit cheaply. He got more time to acknowledge it in the moment instead of how he did in HoC which is thankfully being run from further and further in this series. Booth's art is always a plus too and we don't get to see him do a lot of the greater JL members let alone even Batman.

Why oh why would DC entrust the rehabilitation of such an important character to a Scott freaking Lobdell? It's bad enough that this series (and the Dark Multiverse stuff) is framed by scenes with Dan DiDio's ridiculous character Tempus Fuginaut but Lobdell?? Here's hoping the next time we see Wally DC can spare one of their good writers. As for this series, all I keep thinking is what a pity.
