Jeremy Adams has done something remarkable here. He has undone the injustice that Heroes In Crisis had done to Wally West. And he's done it without just retconning King's story out of continuity. He has not only redeemed Wally West, but he's redeemed a problematic story. I fully intend to give Heroes In Crisis a re-read with this in mind, freed from the idea that it's ruined the character. Easily accessible and full of electrifying action, this is a must read for all fans of The Flash and lovers of good superhero stories. Things are looking up for Wally West fans as we finish off our Quantum Leap adventure because damn do we get a book that's chockful of emotions and characters that feel just right for the screwed-up situation that they're in. That being said, I would have liked the villain reveal to do something more for the story because by the end the bad guy inclusion didn't do much for this story or the character in general, and really......... it doesn't actually matter all that much to me because of how strong the rest of the issue is and how great the art looks throughout. In a lot of ways, this oversized issue does work very well. It sets up how strong Wally is as a potential Flash and how intense his connection to the Speed Force is. It also gives us some great moments with his family, and lets Roy and Ollie have a final moment together (although the impact there is blunted by the fact that Roy is casually running around in another book this week). But at the same time, it feels very much like a story designed to fill a specific purpose"make it so Wally West will be accepted as the Flash again. The Flash 2021 Annual #1 ends this arc with an energetic and emotional finale. Adams latches on to an existing tragedy to fuel his own story, with tremendous results. It does not feel like Kings work is being trampled on, simply tributed. Whilst there are a few issues with the art, the fight scenes are phenomenal and the comic is filled with heart. The Flash 2021 Annual brings a satisfying conclusion and a new starting point for Wally West as the Flash. Plus, it's nice to have a great art team on an annual. I usually dont give 10 out of 10, but this is an exception. Love the resolution between Wally and Roy Harper (f*ck Tom King though) and how Wally becomes more optimistic.

I have to congratulate Adams for cleaning up one of Tom King's worst mistakes ever and making a fun and meaningful moment out of it. I have to confess I didn't like his beginning of the run but the last issues were better and better. I'm more of a Barry Allen fan but seeing Wally happy again put a smile on my face.

I am more of a Barry fan as well, but this is good. Tom King is the only writer who would use Wally’s Family as a way to set up murder and death and this makes it better

This story speaks for itself. DC did the right thing and pushed Wally over the hump and placed him right back where he needed to be. The Flash.

I started out not liking this run, but I gotta admit, this was a really good finale. It fixed Heroes in Crisis better than the first time Flash tried to fix it. I really liked the parts with Wally and Roy, I hope down the line, we get more of stuff like that. Credit where credits due, Merlyn, who I give a ton of shit for his garbage politics, is actually right about this comic book (which contains no politics, coincidentally).

The only thing wrong with this comic is Brando Petersen's atrocious art. Everything else is absolutely fantastic, including Fernando Pasarin's pencils. The redemption of Wally West begins here!

This issue really fixed up the messes at Heroes In Crisis. That plot hole with the speed force explosion becomes relevant with the return of a villain who gets a pretty nice redesign. Which is kind of ironic since Wally gets his old costume back. I know it's nostalgic, especially since he gets his trademark optimism back. Plus I wonder if this played a part in Roy's resurrection.
