Lyles Movie Files - Jeffrey Lyles

    May 23, 2018

DC is really on a roll right now with so many of their top titles hitting so strongly creatively. Few are at the same level as The Flash at this point. The only problem currently with The Flash is it's not coming out every week. Flash War lives up to the hype and if the rest of the arc is this good, DC is going to have one of its most memorable Flash arcs in years. Read Full Review

The artwork by Howard Porter looks fantastic but is also filled with many clever touches, such as Porter referencing some of his older work in Wally West's "time seizure" flashbacks. Throw in some amazing colors from Hi-Fi and Steve Wands' stellar lettering and this is one fantastic book! Read Full Review

A fantastic start to a major comic event Flash fans will surely be mentioning for a long time, if all goes well of course. And if this issue is any indication, then there's no doubt it'll become a huge turning point for Barry, Wally, and the surrounding characters. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Christopher Landers

    May 23, 2018

All in all, this was a solid start to this hugely-anticipated storyline, and if the last panel doesnt make you wring your hands in anticipation of the next issue, then this just isnt the book for you. This is the story long-time DC fans have been waiting for: Wally remembers everything, and he is not happy with all that he has lost. Couple that with the fact that Barry was seemingly responsible for all of the changes to the timeline in the first place (see Flashpoint), and its easy to see that this story could have long-lasting effects on the DC universe as a whole, not to mention the Flash Family itself. The Flash War has officially begun and it's fun, exciting and looks great.  This feels like the next step in the Rebirth puzzle and no matter who your Flash is, you should be enlisting immediately.  I can't see into the future, but if next issue lives up to the promise here, we will all be in for a hell of a ride! "Flash War" is finally here, and only one issue in, starting with Flash #47, and it's already far more compelling and nuanced than any of Marvel's nonsense Civil War/Avengers vs. X-Men/X-Men vs. Inhumans events Read Full Review

Conflicts and misunderstandings increase to a boiling point. The issue starts in the future with Barry and Wally in an angry confrontation? I am very interested in how this story gets to that point. Read Full Review

If the first and last pages of this story are any indication, we’re going to get the most interesting Flash story in years. This feels like another piece of the Rebirth puzzle, and the art is fantastic to boot. I’d recommend this to new readers with access to the last few issues, however. The exposition can be a bit much. On Comics Ground - Aaron Jones

Wally is all over the place emotionally, while Barry, Iris, and Kid Flash are trying to keep the family together. Things get a little complicated when The Renegades, Rogues who are I guess like future Rogues spliced with the Legends of Tomorrow, show up to arrest Iris for the murder of the Reverse Flash. The story is fast and there's a lot going on, so definitely start from the beginning and keep up if you want full understanding of what's going on. Read Full Review

We The Nerdy - Aron Pohara

“Flash War” is so far a muddled story, but a muddled story with potential. As it stands it doesnt seem like it is going to be on level with some of the best Flash stories, but as the first of six issues, there's time to course correct. If you were invested in collecting The Flash since beginnings get it; if not, you may as well wait for a trade paperback once the story is fully done. Read Full Review

    Bleeding Cool - Joshua Davison

    May 26, 2018

Flash #47 is another misfire, especially given the build-up to Flash War. While its not among the worst issues of the series, it is a step-down in quality since last issue. The melodrama and frustrating dialogue isnt salvaged by the solid artwork of Porter and Hi-Fi. I cant say stay away from the comic, but its not recommended either. If youre a fan of the series and are hyped for Flash War, then I can tentatively say to check it out. Read Full Review
