Bitter Root is back and it is a book you need your hands on. It is fun, it is terrifying, and exciting on just about every page. The Sangyere family is reunited! They are used to dealing with the jinoo, the demon-possessed folks of the Harlem renaissance but there is something up. They may think they have defeated the good doctor Sylvester but there's more when a new threat rears her ugly head.

This issue reveals more of the tragic backstory of Dr. Sylvester and his family in Oklahoma. More understanding of the "non-Jinoo" and the origin of their state of being thanks to some flashbacks and Berg's intuitions. The battle continues and from the way things look, it's going to go down soon in Atlanta. Check out what happens next with our new villain Adro, Dr. Sylvester, and the pains of domestic terrorism.

I thoroughly enjoyed this issue and so will you. The inventive and long-suffering family the Sangyeres are back at the fight to overcome the jinoo and the newly infected. Is Adro the devil? Or something else? Do they bring suffering or salvation? The battle continues and we shall soon see if the Sangyeres can find a way to deal with some Southern Discomfort.

As good 'ol Jim Ross would say, "Business is about to pick up!" The Sangerye family is trying to battle from different fronts to ensure they have the support they need and the understand they need to battle Adro and cure the inzondo. There is a war going on and no one is safe. The battle rages on between Adro and Dr. Sylvester, will he succumb to their wiles to the dark side? So pick up this book today!

The Sangerye family is going through the wringer and has to face an army of demon-possessed folks, the likes they have not been used to while fighting a supposed demon-god feeding on hate and fear. They have their work cut out as they've split up and we have to see if partnering with the good doctor will help stop Adro from winning over some new converts. This is the best book out right now, the hits keep coming. This is the end of Book 2 and you won't believe what happens next.

The Red Summer Special is an appetizer holding you over until the real meal arrives. Six short stories surrounding your favorite characters in the Bitter Root universe reveal some critical moments in their background. Some important questions are answered while more questions develop. It's raw, it's gritty, it's beautiful and horrifying all at once. As a history-buff and an amateur genealogist, the stories connect seamlessly with my own family history during the bitter 1920's in the United States. A Black Panther story with no Black Panther can still be a solid story. After Aneka and Ayo escape from Klaw's clutches, how will Klaw react? How will T'Challa get in the mix while he's being distracted with the creatures from Wakanda's past?

Questions abound in this installment of Coates' Battle for Wakanda. Who or what is Ras the Exhorter? What lies ahead for T'Challa and his newly assembled "Avengers of the New World?" While the Black Panther's posse battle portal monsters, the imprisoned Tetu teases that this is only the beginning of something much worse.

Coates gives us what we've been waiting for and it's Klaw and Black Panther mano a mano. There are answers to the question of who has been pulling the strings all along and what this whole war was all about. We see who comes through the door and I'm surprised. I'm sure you will be.

The actual end was more of a fulfilling ending than last issue could have been. The battle was what I had wished Klaw battle was going to be. Tales of suspense and prime illustration of the manipulative genius that is T'Challa. Nice conclusion, but the kind you don't want to end.

We travel to a galaxy far away to an empire of Wakandans. Coates leaves us with more questions than answers as we learn about the kind of empire is being run at the expense of others. The focus lies with one of the Nameless, a slave and a remarkably accomplished fighter, who seeks only to return home. The art is beautiful and worth the price of admission but the exposition a little slim. Join the journey and hopefully, it will all make sense soon.

The plot thickens and fight comes close to home for the Maroons. Somehow T'Challa sees it coming but maybe not in time to truly prepare for the onslaught of the Empire's forces. Also, the empire may have a ringer that pose a serious threat to the lives of our heroes M'Baku, T'Challa, Nakia, and N'Yami.

The thing about war is that there are always sacrifices. The war continues. During the ensuing battle, T'Challa is standing out in some interesting ways. The Emperor N'Jadaka is calling for T'Challa's blood. Why? Competition. I wouldn't want to be the one who stands between T'Challa and his memories, Bast or not. Coates and Acua's Black Panther is a must-read. Five years into the future and T'Challa is living solo. He and Nakia have the most intense conversation of the book so far and it is awesome. What's next for the Maroons led by M'Baku? Taking it straight to N'Jadaka who just might be shaking in his panther boots about, "He Who Put the Knife Where it Belonged." This issue marks the end of Book 1 and a turning point for the beginning of Book 2. This 6th issue focuses on the Wakandan Empire's leader, Emperor N'Jadaka. We learn about his background and his way forward. He stands among the Wakandan gods looking for redemption. The battle is epic but foreshadows how much more epic the next battle is to come. We are inching closer and closer to the showdown between the emperor and the Maroons. It's an all-new artist, all-new direction for Coates' run of Black Panther. The suspense is killing me! We learn some more secrets about our good friend, Emperor N'Jadaka. Meanwhile, utilizing some spies, M'Baku and T'Challa make major headway in taking down the Empire. The interactions between all the characters at this point is interesting. Who can we trust, how many secrets will make themselves known. Hard truths become harder when they have been plucked from your psyche or withheld from your reach.

I love the subtle connections to the Shuri book but can't wait for the inevitable convergence. I'm not really sold on the side story of Achebe and Farouk's plan with the M'Kraan crystal but only time will tell. The art is beautiful and eye-catching. The more traditional comic art fits well with the story at this point. Acuna is masterful but the panels and faces tell the story in a way I'm used to.

This fight between T'Challa and M'Baku has been brewing a bit since they first met. And now it happens and its over something, you might not expect. Meanwhile, Wakanda on Earth is enjoying some good fortune but still missing its King and its primary goddess, Bast. The absence is felt. This action packed issue is as beautiful as it is exciting. While T'Challa talks things over with his family on Earth the Mackendal is warring with the Empire's warships. The big battle is "over," last issue, the Mackendal blew up the spot! The question is now what will T'Challa will do. This issue displays his return to Wakanda Prime and reunites with his sister, Shuri, and his beloved, Ororo. There's much more to do because there's no happy ending in sight for "The One Who Puts the Knife Where it Belongs."

Just when you thought you could celebrate, nope. King T'Challa is brooding again but for good reason, he has a tough decision coming up that only speaking to his mother in Djalia will fix. Not only are things not feeling right with T'Challa but literally some jet-fighters from the Empire jump to Wakanda Prime. The King and his crew (but not that crew) take them on as N'Jadaka makes some new friends among some old enemies.

The former emperor has made some new friends and he is off to find a new but oh-so familiar body. T'Challa senses something is wrong and consults with his closest confidants and even the Goddess Bast. It's about to go down and the battle for Wakanda continues but this time, the battlefield has some very interesting and powerful opponents. This issue gives us a glimpse of what what went down when T'Challa arrived to the Empire and first met Emperor N'Jadaka. How did he go from the mythic King being welcomed to his kindred's empire to an angry amnesiatic? Even since returning, why did the king not rejoice at his triumphant return? This issue advances the story of the all-out war between the forces of Wakanda Prime and the liberated Maroons against the symbiote King N'Jadaka and his galactic forces. As the battle wages on, we get some much needed background on Nakia and why she fights the fight. Shuri is holding the reins and holding her own against Imperial forces but has to call in some back-up. The end will blow you away.

The battle continues but this time in the Djalia, plane of Wakandan memory. T'Challa battles his ancestors to gain the strength to topple the symbiote emperor N'Jadaka. What's N'Jadaka's state of mind? How is Bast helping the war effort? How can the vast galactic empire be defeated? Learn more about the next steps when you pick up this exciting issue.

What do we do without SHIELD? Well T'Challa has the answer and it's the Agents of Wakanda. They work on the weird, the wild, and the covert that regular superheroes don't handle. This new on-going series finds a rag-tag group figuring out how to be a team. But if anyone can lead them, it's Okoye. There's some trouble afoot in Oklahoma and then the real action commences. The Black Panther and the Big Red Sore. This was a great beginning to a the three-issue mini-series of your dreams. Deadpool is set on a do-gooder mission that is almost as equally important as King T'Challa's mission to cure disease. When will they figure out they're on the same side and stop bickering? It's got to happen soon because there's only 3 issues. After they part ways, Wade may have to think twice about drawing his weapon on the King for a 3rd time. This first issue did not disappoint, pick up the issue today, I laughed the whole time reading it.

T'Challa and Wade got off to a rocky start. This madness continues as Wade comes on back to face off against T'Challa after running afoul of some poachers and arms himself for the big fight. Science, jokes, poaching, and holograms are abound as we go into the second installment of this mini-series for the ages. If you're down for the laughs and T'Challa's trademark stoicism, pick up Black Panther vs. Deadpool #2.

Alright, we are back at as the "will they? won't they?" finally happens. After a brief battle where T'Challa embarrasses Wade, they team up to deal with a grumble in the jungle. They find themselves face to face with the murderous Jack O'Lantern. The fight is fiery and we're left with nothing more but more questions ahead. Pick it up today to see how it went down.

Black Panther selling vibranium to folks in Dubai and Klaw comes and tries to ruin it by extorting the innocents of Dubai for $5 billion. A simple story for a complex hero and villain. If you're new to the Black Panther mythos, this might be an interesting starting off point but there's more to be seen for what the next issues will tackle.

Wally is all over the place emotionally, while Barry, Iris, and Kid Flash are trying to keep the family together. Things get a little complicated when The Renegades, Rogues who are I guess like future Rogues spliced with the Legends of Tomorrow, show up to arrest Iris for the murder of the Reverse Flash. The story is fast and there's a lot going on, so definitely start from the beginning and keep up if you want full understanding of what's going on.

The Flash War continues in part 2 of this arc. Wally is still a mess and it does not help that Zoom is getting in his ear. The murder trial of Iris West comes to a halt. As usual we have some time for the Blame Barry show and we get more really intense moments between he and Wally. The saga continues and buckle up, I think we're in for a wild ride.

The Flash War part 3 is an intense ride. It ended much sooner than I was ready for it to. Wally and Barry are at full speed and they're make quite the scene. So much so it attracts the gaze of the Justice League, the Titans, Amanda Waller and even the Highfather. More details about the real reason this war began from none other than Hunter Zolomon also known as Zoom. I don't think any of us could have seen this one coming. Pick it up!

The finale of Flash 3 is upon us. The war is over for now. There are some major twists in this issue that have repercussions for issues to come and even potentially beyond the Flash family itself. Is any problem really resolved here? Not much but as usual Barry takes it all on his shoulders and plans for the next battle ahead, although he has no idea what monster is coming next.

This issue was awesome! However, grab your tissues, as it really gets to the heart of who The Flash is within the DC Universe. Specifically who Wally is, but also who Barry is. You can only run for so long, and Wally has finally stopped running. I felt every bit of this issue, and what it could mean for Wally going forward. Hopefully, some things will get figured out in the upcoming Heroes in Crisis book. Pick this up if you want to understand Wally more and see where this next installment of The Flash Family's adventures may lead.

Are we going on a Force Quest? How will Barry figure out all these new forces? How will he work with Commander Cold? What is Iris remembering and how will this impact her relationship with Barry? Barry thinks things in Central City always stay the same, this issue definitely proves the opposite. Pick up the newest arc for the Flash if you're interested in Barry's journey to figure out these new challenges ahead.

Barry is not trying to go on a Force Quest but he may be forced on one. Flash and Commander Cold take on Trickster juiced-up on Strength Force. In their efforts to figure out what's going on, things get real complicated, especially for Barry. I was most excited about the backstory of Commander Cold and I was not disappointed. He's a little imbalanced, pick up this issue and learn a little bit about him. But not his real name. Barry still hasn't asked.

Barry absorbs the Strength Force and has to take on Commander Cold and Warden Wolfe's guards. The Strength Force is not to be fooled with. Barry learns the ropes quickly but that doesn't fix his larger issues with Commander Cold, Trickster, and Wolfe. Oh, and the "Grips of Strength" arc concludes not how you'd expect. Pick it up and you shall see. Plus, what lies ahead? None other than the Sage Force.

Barry is coming to terms with the weirdness of his city given the infusion of the many forces. It only gets weirder as the Sage Force wreaks a little bit of havoc. Barry is still not addressing his personal issues head on with Iris but he will have to partner with Detective Burns to face Heatwave. There's some fun, there's some fighting, and there's some flames. Enjoy!

Is Barry one step away from actually going on a Force Quest? Barry and Detective Burns are stuck in a fever dream onset by the Sage Force in Heatwave. Barry's learning about the Sage Force up, close, and personal, this time around he needs to figure out something soon or all of Central City is toast. Commander Cold and Iris are on deck but they're just as clueless about what to do next. How will they figure out how to counteract or deactivate the force? Flash #56 is on sale now. Enjoy!

"The Last Embers" is the finale to the Sage Force story line, "Faster than Thought." We get a taste of the power of empathy and the utility of teamwork all in one issue. Barry finally owns up to some things, he's need to for a while, since Wally and Wallace left. I'd say both Cold and Iris are essential to Flash's success. Open up this issue and figure out how.

The Flash Quest begins with Barry and Iris being led to across the world to figure out these new forces. They run into various shenanigans only to be led to another city where there are more questions than answers. Join Barry and Iris as they try to understand the wacky new world we live in.

The Force Quest continues and this time it takes Barry and Iris to Gorilla City. Is Grodd behind this or are there other evildoers at play? What secrets are the citizens of the city still holding about the Forces and when will Barry get the full picture? Blood, sweat, and tears abound as Flash takes on a new foe next issue. Pick up Flash #59 to see what the Force fuss is all about.

The Force Quest continues with a Flash and Fuerza battling demon manifestations onset by the Sage Force. Barry has got to figure how to extinguish the demons and beat Cauldron, while also learning more about these new forces. Things get complicated and Flash and Fuerza go toe-to-toe once more before he and Iris go on the next leg of their quest. It's exciting, it's got some surprises, and it holds some suspense for the continued quest. If you're hooked on the quest like I am, you'll want to pick up Flash #61.

Patience Lee is fresh off a tour in Afghanistan and returns home to Albuquerque, New Mexico to find some unexpected changes to her life with her husband and two young children. Eventually this leads to her donning the Kick Ass costume but why you may ask? I read the whole thing and I still kind of don't know why. The art doesn't disappoint but story will hopefully fill in some holes as we move on. If you're looking for exactly what the Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl of old did, you'll be disappointed.

Be prepared to learn more about N'Jadaka and how he became the Killmonger we know. It's harsh, it's bloody, and it's a story we've been waiting to be told. An MIT grad becomes a killer, how does it happen? Short answer, kill his family and severe him from his homeland. Longer, more detailed answer? This whole mini-series. Killmonger and some dangerous mercenaries become reluctant partners, and I can bet, there's more killing a-coming. Pick it up today.

Protect your neck and watch out for swords that make you want to kill everyone. The crewmembers of the Charon come up against just that. How do you combat against that? The pernicious personnel of the Charon will figure it out, eventually. Plus, Captain Rigg should really watch his back, as Satalis is plotting something big. Will Rigg finally get rid of Satalis? Rigg doesn't take too kindly to mutiny plans, unless it's his own. The Black Panther has come to a great physical and mental challenge in this issue. Wakanda's exposure to the world has made both T'Challa and all of Wakanda vulnerable internally and externally. But T'Challa is ready to face this issue and much more as he proves himself a competent and compassionate leader. This series has revealed the inner turmoil, success, and continual unfinished business in a great addition to the early Black Panther mythos.

A young T'Challa coming of age and taking the mantle of Black Panther and King from his uncle S'yan, has to solve the disturbing mystery of a number of disappearances among family members plaguing the Wakandan people. Grappling with his country's isolationist traditions, he has to deal with the King of Atlantis, Namor and his brash behavior as well. His involvement will either solve the mystery or cause greater issues with the Atlantean army at his beck and call.

Rise of Black Panther is still good but seeing as how this is the midpoint of this mini-series, they need advance the story a lot. This is conceptually good but execution was wanting. Also, while the introduction of other characters like Namor, Nick Fury, and others is necessary to situate within the Marvel Universe, it doesn't feel as natural as in previous issues. Get this because it is part of a larger story of T'Challa's journey but I am really hoping for improvement next issue.

I know I have said it before but the worst part of this series is that it is going to end. This is a brief and comprehensive origin of T'Challa as King of Wakanda. He handles these other Marvel heroes and villains with style and genius. Keep it coming.

Overall, I loved it and I don't know if I'm ready for the end but I am. If you're not reading this series, what are you doing???

What the game's been missing is more Shuri. Okorafor is bridging the historical comic Shuri with Coogler and Wright's portrayal of her in the recent film. The genius tech, priestess, warrior sister of T'Challa shoots T'Challa and Manifold into space to launch a new Wakandan space program only for them to lose contact after 2 weeks. What will Shuri do next when Wakanda is looking for a leader to fill the gap of T'Challa's absence?

Shuri is still on the hunt for her missing brother, the Black Panther, King T'Challa. She calls on the help of Storm and Chief Ikoko of the Mute Zones to get closer to finding him. Shuri is funny, interesting, and endearing, Pick up yours today if you like astral ancestors, foldable ships, and witty banter between T'Challa exes.

Shuri's astral form is sent out in the void of space only to find a pair of friends in Groot and Rocket Raccoon. They tangle with a huge bug and Shuri proves her genius transcends her physical form. The journey continues to find T'Challa, Manifold and now Queen Ramonda. Pick up the latest installment of Shuri today!

The conclusion of "A Friend in Need" with guest writer Vita Ayala has Shuri team with some Young Quippers in Ms. Marvel and Miles Morales Spider-Man. The young heroes take on Graviton. He is grumpy and he's wielding some unstable tech and he doesn't care if he opens a black hole to who knows where. It's fun, it's deep, and there's something for everybody. And no I'm not talking about the black hole. This story is great and you should pick up a copy at your local shop to see what Shuri does next.

Nnedi Okorafor is back and the story finds Shuri taking on the mantle of Black Panther in T'Challa's absence. While it gives hope to some, it poses some issues for others. The big space bug is still wreaking havoc and our team of super-powered women have to find out how to lure the Lubber to defeat it. Shuri teams with Storm, Chief Ikoko and the Dora Milage to quell this threat. Oh but there is also a mystery to solve. To find out what happens check out the latest issue of Shuri available now.

We're back to the main story when Nnedi Okorafor take Shuri and Storm on mission. In trying to defeat this music loving Space Lubber, Shuri's tech is hacked by her friend Muti. In the pursuit of Muti, the truth of his allegiances and character are revealed. The action is fast and it's a challenge for the Black Panther. But she is up to the task? Unfortunately, it looks to be we are at the end of Shuri. But the fun is not over yet. With the contest to take place in Djalia, the home of Wakandan memory, it's about to go down. Accompanied by her online friend, the mutant hacker Muti, Princess Shuri is going head up with the Space Lubber in the final showdown. How will this battle end? A complex plan is set in motion and the mimic weapon is stopped but not without cost. This is emotional, funny, and creative journey into the mythology of the Dora is worth the ticket price. Malice finds Storm, Rogue, and Nightcrawler at an African grocery store and ruins everyone's night. Drum in hand, Malice stirs up trouble in Brooklyn and our 3 Dora Milaje make their way to join the fight as well. Some twists and turns later, another hero joins as we are about to wrap up this story in the next issue. How are we going to resolve the catastrophe Malice has wrought?
