Outer Darkness is a comic series that appears to be very comfortable in its own skin. Every risk and chance it takes with either story or art direction pays off in spades. And whilst I appreciate not everyone will be excited by science fiction or horror elements, I honestly cant recommend this enough. Sure, theres a bit of backstory to the characters now, but this issue is still a good jumping on point with a relatively contained story. If this doesnt leave you wanting more, we may need to contact the ships exorcist as the only explanation is that youre possessed by a fun hating demon! Read Full Review

Only this series could make a literal haunted house in space work. The story, in both the past and the present, is awesome, the visuals are killer, and the letters gold. This is a book I devour each month. This needs to be on everyone's pull list. I can think of no better combination of horror and science fiction in print. Highest possible recommendation. In Outer Darkness #7, we finally get to see a slice of Captain Rigg's past, a character who we've been following since the beginning. That glimpse into history is of course marred with Outer Darkness' signature gore and grotesqueness, but it's moments like this leave us wanting to know more about Riggs and the entire crew.
