Perfectly captures how badly this turned out. Because my god this "event†did not stick the landing.

But Why Tho? - Aaron Phillips
Nov 13, 2019Overall, I've been such a big fan of this series, and I hope, beyond hope, they find a way to work this villain back into another big series that crosses the DC comics-verse. I found this conclusion exceptional. Whether you read it in a trade paperback or you've read issue by issue, I hope you've each found it as intense, and baffling as I have! Read Full Review

Nov 14, 2019Event Leviathan #6 was not the comic I expected it to be. This espionage thriller doesn't end with a twist to leave everyone reeling. It only feels just to call the "villains" villains in quotation marks. The mystery and reveal are ordinary and mundane. That might be what makes it so brilliantly troubling. And the best part is it's not over yet. Read Full Review

Black Nerd Problems - Brandon Lawrence
Nov 14, 2019A couple of gems stood out. First, the interactions between Talia, Robin, and Batman were great; littered with jokes and reminders that Talia is Batman's baby mama. "Wait, are you really his mom?". My favorite block of awesomeness was the team using sign language to throw off Leviathan's surveillance. Lastly, I empathize with Leviathan. He was so sure that Superman would be on board with his plan that you can feel his pain, disappointment, and rage when it's clear that was never going to happen. He was so polite and reverent to Supe for this entire ordeal so when I read, "Well Fuck you, Superman" I was physically taken aback. The next chapter in this story in the new Action Comics hints at the abandonment of the carefully planned, slow-burn, detective-centered Event Leviathan. I think we might get some big brawls. Nov 15, 2019The capabilities of the Leviathan organization right now don't seem to fit. Perhaps more will be revealed soon. Still, the art was gorgeous. The mini-series as a whole was brilliant. And the mystery was thought-provoking. I couldn't ask for more. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Jason A. Fleece
Nov 15, 2019The first five issues of Event Leviathan were a tight little thriller, with some interesting character work and gorgeous art. Unfortunately, with this dud of a reveal, the sixth and final issue proves that the whole story is less Leviathan and more a beached whale. Read Full Review

Nov 20, 2019While it makes sense to give her a win given the death of her father, Lois Lane doesn't come off all that well here (more concerned with her byline, which she doesn't plan on sharing, than the fate of the world). Worth a look. Read Full Review

Nov 13, 2019Event Leviathan #6 is a satisfying end to this chapter of the Leviathan plot. I haven't loved every issue, but due to Maleev's art and Bendis' commitment to the reveal, it all feels worth it in the end. It's not without flaws, but it's ultimately a success. Read Full Review

Nov 13, 2019Alex Maleev does an excellent job with the art in this issue. Every panel has the look and feel of a great painting. The use of color and the stylistic choices are fantastic. Read Full Review

Nov 13, 2019Still, overall, I'd say this mini is a fun and worthwhile read. It's definitely a mystery and one that gets you thinking with the "who is Leviathan" and "what's going to happen next." Bendis shows he has a great understanding of all the characters involved (which is impressive because there's a lot) and highlights their importance and value. Plus, Maleev's art is, as I said, simply amazing, throughout the whole thing. Read Full Review

Nov 15, 2019Despite a reveal that crumbles unto its own weight and longer narrative structure, it is within the quieter moments and the original plan to reshape DC's seedy intelligence underbelly, that "Event Leviathan" #6 shines the brightest. Read Full Review

Nov 14, 2019Besides having a great writer and artist, Event Leviathan #6 fell flat for me. There were too many characters and I cant even remember the first three issues. If you havent been following Event Leviathan since issue #1 then I suggest waiting for the trade to be released. In the entire six issue run there wasnt a standout issue, so reading them in one collection will probably work much better. Read Full Review

Nov 13, 2019The end? No, just a stopgap for whatever Leviathan is up to next. The only thing that is resolved in this issue is finding out who Leviathan really is and I can't think that there's anyone out there that would be excited about this reveal. I wasn't a fan of the art, the characters don't feel like themselves and nothing really happens in this issue to make you feel like you were actually a part of a so-called "Mystery Thriller". Just a non-ending to an event that was boring from the start. Read Full Review

Nov 13, 2019Event Leviathan #6 is the perfect conclusion to this book, because it has all of the same problems that have plagued it from the beginning. Poor dialogue, bland visuals, and a mystery nobody cares about add up to one of the most forgettable minis to come out of DC in recent memory. Read Full Review
