Overall, Dark Knights of Steel: Tales From The Three Kingdoms #1 was a good anthology-style book filling in some blanks and setting up some cool stuff in the Dark Knights of Steel Universe.  I can easily recommend this to anyone who is reading the series.  New readers should start at the beginning (that's always a good place to start), but they will likely enjoy this when they get to it. If you were taken in by the mature side of Dark Knights of Steel, then this book is not for you. However, I can recommend reading this issue for wholesome palette cleanser. Albeit, The Tales of The Three Kingdoms are not entirely necessary to the main story, nor are they devoid of their individual problems. Simply put, the book is extremely harmless, but harmless to the point of being rarely noteworthy. On a positive note, I am looking forward to more Knights of Steel. Read Full Review

With another two month wait until we get a new issue of Dark Knights Of Steel this interlude one-shot, Tales From The Three Kingdoms, did well to buy give fans a chance to dive back into the world. Tales From The Three Kingdoms shows that there is a lot of potential in simply exploring the history of characters before the current events in Dark Knights Of Steel. If we get more of these hopefully Tom Taylor and company will give a chance for other characters not named Bruce Wayne to shine. Read Full Review

This was not a bad comic by any means. I enjoyed the stories, but this question is why does this comic exist? Did I really need to know any of this backstory? They haven't released a new issue of the regular run for months; instead, they put this out. It's just confusing and frustrating.
