The only good thing I can say about this series is that it ended.
Bad characters, bad plotting, bad pacing. Weak dialogue and moments, with the characters speaking in Twitter-speak half the time and mock-Tolkien the other half.
Taylor's weakest Elseworld, one of the weaker things DC has put for some time. I hope they don't waste any more time with this tbh because there are a

Dark Knights of Steel #12
The cataclysmic conclusion to the bestselling series is here. The Three Kingdoms are united for the first time in a generation against a common threat-but can even their combined might prevail? Will a traitor in their midst turn the tide of the final battle? The shocking finale...but is this truly the end?
Well, this series was a waste of time.
The setting is frankly, uninteresting. Taylor never goes beyond surface-level pop-culture fantasy tropes, that aren't aided by his bipolar need to either make everybody either super-nice or darker and edgier versions of themselves.
The characters have less personality than a toaster (and that need to hide their motivations because of the

Nightwing #104

Then, in the backup: Nightwing and Jon Kent find an important clue as to who's...
Dark Knights of Steel #11
The Trinity have united under a banner of hope as they go to war against the White Martian threat in this penultimate chapter! But how deep has the betrayal fractured the tentative alliance? Can bitter differences be set aside to save the planet?
Taylor always goes for easy exits.
Nightwing #103
Who is the Grinning Man, who's always grinning no matter what he's doing, even when he's murdering people, and what kind of deal did he make with Neron? Nightwing and the Titans better figure that out soon before they lose one of their team members... Then, in the backup, Nightwing continues his lessons mentoring Jon Kent, a.k.a. Superman, and this...

Mmm, interesting final, but I think Taylor hit the wrong key with this first issue in general.

The bestselling series continues! The opening battle for the Three Kingdoms takes a deadly and dramatic turn as heroes return...enemies are revealed...and dark secrets spill out like blood on the battlefield!
Ooof. This was... Rough. I generally don't like to be negative (specially because started lining this series) but this reveal felt simultaneously too predictable (many people had figured out that the prophecy involved imposters, hence the "they'll look like us") and completely disconnected from the narrative this story was *seemingly* presenting. Spoilers ahead:
It was aliens. The war h

Nightwing #99
"The Joker War" part five of six! Things have changed, as Batman realizes he can't fight this war alone. He's going to need help. Before he faces down The Joker, he must call up his trusty partner Dick Grayson! But can Dick reclaim his lost memories in time to join the battle?
I'm afraid the series is pretty lost. Taylor pacing for this story is sadly, well, bad. Really bad. When you need to put the same narrative trick (and now, an evil counterpart of the Superman family will reveal themselves to be evil) four times in a row in, with literally no alteration, in the span of whopping 8 issues to advance your plot maybe you just don't have enough story for twelve issues. more
Dark Knights of Steel #8
The battle between the Three Kingdoms has begun in brutal fashion, and to call the opening salvo anything less than shocking is an understatement! Can the Trinity stop further bloodshed? Or has all-out war truly begun?
At this point, I kinda understand the negativity.

FEAR THE CHILDREN!
The Children of the Vault - hyper-evolved humans from a society whose time moves much faster than our own. Each time the X-Men defeat them, they retreat to their home, evolving further to a new, more advanced generation. This time, they will not be stopped so easily.
X-Men #17
THE BEST LAID PLANS...
As the new X-Men team brings deals with a seemingly unstoppable foe, one X-Man wrestles with the fact they've gone way too far, and another is shaken by unexpectedly getting exactly what they'd no longer allowed themselves to dream of.

Nightwing meets Nite-Mite! (And Bitewing and Oracle and Daniele Di Nicuolo!) That's right, that meddling Nite-Mite booped himself from the fifth dimension, and after reading Seven Secrets, he hitchhiked his way over with Di Nicuolo into our Nightwing series! Trust us, you're not going to want to miss this one.

This series is a complete and utter failure. It's so fixed on pretending to be smarter than it actually is it completely fails at every level. The story is complete forced conflict and randomeness, we've got a bunch of characters that barely know each other fighting each other because a third group we barely know anything about just falls from the sky and kills somebody so that the story can advan more

@DC Fan of Sorts - nope, and you're just trying to twist my words. Nowhere did I say or imply that someone should stop reviewing things they don't like. What I said was, it was surprising to still be reading something they hate and is obvious, 8 issues into the series. If it's that bad why read that deep into the series?
@dc Fan of Sorts...we'll he didn't review issues 1-7, sooooo I don't think this is about "well, I hate it, but I'm doing my job of reviewingâ€
Nightwing #96
They say love is when two hearts find their happy place right next to each other, but to Heartless, that's just the wall of jars of hearts he has in his back office. As Dick and Babs's two hearts do find their happy place next to each other, one question they ask each other proves difficult to answer.
