So far I'm enjoying this overall buf there are aspects that dont grab me..Alfred as asshole is one of the them. Having him around actually adds to the enjoyment of the story then hes squandered. Even Leslie is kind of annoying. The feel is right but some of the execution is wrong.

The creative team also packs a lot into this issue, which has its pros and cons. But on the whole this book is pretty awesome. I've made a point to follow his work since first noticing him with DC's I Vampire. That was in 2011 and I haven't been disappointed with his work yet. Stunning artwork from the always brilliant Andrea Sorrentino. Mattson Tomlin is quite the story teller. The real world vibes have been done in Batman before but not as well as this.

Man...this is written so incredibly well. Tomlin is a creator to keep an eye on. And Sorrentino's art is such a perfect fit for this story. I'm enjoying this far more than I expected to. Also, I guess Alfred is just a massive asshole in this lol interesting take.

The only critique I have is that the super stylised panel layout can be a little difficult to follow occasionally, especially when the panels are small. Other than that everything good about the last issue is once again present here and much more this time, absolutely brilliant. The last issue was amazing but this one just goes above and beyond, the few issues I had with the last issue are fixed in this. Batman the Imposter is the best Batman book of at least the last five years.

When I first heard about this, I thought it would me another run-on-the-mill origin story that did nothing new with the idea. It angered me, as I thought DC should do something else than "Year two of Batman". My grodd was I wrong. So wrong. This is amazing. I love this.

I have loved every single thing about this series so far. I hope the writer follows it up with something more for DC. And the art is incredible as Sorrentino's always is. Though this has been so good in every way so far, the panel that really got me in the feels was Bruce Wayne's childlike signature in #1. It's emblematic of this not being just one more alt-Batman story. There are a lot of good ones but this one is really special.

The first half of this was boring and pretty nonsensical at times in terms of the characters. There's nothing new or insightful coming out of Leslie's therapy, same old stuff with some stupid exceptions, as in Bruce lacks empathy now. I know the trope, Bruce beats criminals hence he's the worst blahblahblah. Except, Bruce shows empathy even to supervillains a lot of the times. It's not his fault that most of them are beyond redemption mass murderers. Also, I don't see why this version of Alfred just leaves just so we can have Leslie fulfill his supporting role. It's bad enough he got killed needlessly by King in main continuity, we don't need him to be an asshole here too. And of course we get a sneaky remark about Thomas Wayne too because more

The story is cool, although it doesn't always seem clear which direction it plan to go. Didn't really like Alfred's gone, but the romance with Blair is very interesting. I love Sorrentino's art, but is confusing sometimes, the panels and stuff. And I'm very curious about the imposter's identity.

This is fine, I'm not really in love with it. I saw a review saying that this wasn't just a run of the mill Batman origin story, and while I kind of agree holistically, I would say that this is still run of the mill in its tropes, even if there less Batman-specific this time. I wish I could say that I'm blown away, but this is just *another* Batman title to me.

Mostly another average issue. I really don't think this is part of regular continuity though. For one thing Alfred never left in those days. I never heard of Bruce behaving so destructively in his youth either. Is this a prelude to the new movie perhaps? Who knows? I've read better, but I've read way worse, especially over the past few years. I have to say as well that I'm looking forward to the conclusion and showdown with the Imposter.
