Waid's modern masterpiece. What a beautifully written Alfred. They really must reverse his death in the main series. His lack of presence in mainline Batman is felt each passing year.

Both this issue and the previous one are the best chapters yet. Waid provides a clever twist this issue that I was half-expecting, but not in the way he delivered it. The emergence of Two-Face as a series villain is also a highlight for me. Alfred steals the issue with a perfect, heart-tugging scene. I’m eager to see how Waid wraps things up in the next three issues!
