From the small shot of Jimmy's tablet you can see him working in the Jameson/Parker dynamic. The blue bombs must also be silent because I don't buy an entire building blowing up in Metropolis and Superman not even noticing what's happening, it isn't Gotham after all. The Lois/Sam Lane scene was pure contrived drama for the sake of "future†stories I bet, but feels so forced it just doesn't work. You clip show analogy was particularly apt.

DC Comics News - Matthew Lloyd
Jan 30, 2019Hands down the best issue of Bendis's run on Action so far, but it's still not perfect as Bendis seems incapable of finding the right voice for Lois or how to handle the Lois and Clark relationship. That said, there's a lot more good in this issue as there's some real attempt at relationship exploration between Lois and her dad, plus the Jimmy Olsen bits are great and the art from Steve Epting is top-notch. You Don't Read Comics - David Harth
Jan 30, 2019Action Comics #1007 is a complete and utter disappointment. This issue is supposed to be the kick off for Bendis big DC event, setting the table for what's to come, but there's nothing here. That said, there's always the chance that this story will get better as time goes on, but this is a very inauspicious beginning and it doesn't really bode well for what's to come. There are a few bright spots in this one, but not enough to elevate it to level that could be called good. As usual for Action Comics, the art is top notch and Bendis does have a grasp on Lois and Jimmy's characters in this issue, but other than that there's nothing to hook readers here. Read Full Review

I'm starting to love Bendis' storytelling, I think he really understands the characters in Superman's life not to mention Jimmy, he is a star in this comic. Now this may not be the usual cup of Action Comics but the very idea of Leviathan is intriguing enough it certainly makes one want to look out for what's coming next. Bendis wants his readers to see things through the eyes of Clark Kent and Lois Lane of the Daily Planet, that's subtle and it works brilliantly. The art, it speaks for itself. There were cool artistic moments like when characters stayed still in the background and or walked away from the frame after a revelation, it speaks a lot. All in all I'm looking forward to more of Leviathan Rising.

"I kissed a lizard person" While things get a little worrisome on Superman front, Action Comics keeps it going with another brewing mystery. Jimmy Olsen stumbled on something big, but it blew up in a flash of blue light. Superman caught falling Amanda Waller, but whoever threw her disappeared in a flash of blue light. What's going on? We don't know, but I'm eager to find out. The big thing that happened here is that Lois finally decided to tell her father the truth. The one about the fact that her husband, one that Sam Lane isn't very fond off, is the same guy Sam Lane really doesn't like. His reaction surprised me. Action Comics has had its ups and downs with poor pacing and mediocre plots, but this feels like it's shaping up to a more concrete arc.

Feels like we have three stories going on but in the same number pages as a regular issue which unfortunately means not enough to get me on board! But also it feels like it's taking place during last story arc. Dialogue is okay but could better while artwork is great except for couple of panels!

This sure was a thing that exists. I think Lois is being insanely irresponsible, and her character usually isn't that. The stuff with Jimmy was fine, although Perry White comes across like J. Jonah Jameson, if he didn't know how to properly berate someone. The hell is "Out of this multiverse"? I'm severly uninterested in the plot revolving around the blue bombs, assumedly set by Leviathan. This issue was like a clip show, of all sorts of plots, but none very interesting.

It's almost a joke how bad this is. The story does not flow organically and everything seems forced. Almost every character that appeared was "off" and yet another emotional scene devoid of impact occurred. = Spoilers Follow = I'll start this off by saying Perry White is not J.Jonah Jameson, and making the former try to fit the mold of the latter is just dumb. This made Jimmy texts, which were meant to be "humorous" just be dumb. His reaction to Jimmy could be seen as Jonah berating Peter Parker and again was not necessary as they are notable enough characters to present as their own people. This issue started off promising. Steve Epting is a solid choice and does a remarkable job of depicting the characters emoting. Seeing a snippet of Jimmy's crazy life was amazing. He's been MIA lately and I always appreciate when he's included. Jimmmy and Clark's interactions were amusing and I also enjoyed Perry and Jimmy's scene. However, like the other issues in this run this book suffers because in it, Lois makes an OOC decision just so the plot can advance. To be fair, she's actually better written here than her previous appearances. But the fact remains that this is yet another OOC act for Lois. Lois is fiercely protective of Clark. And while Jon is a fairly new addition to the family, she's been just as protective of her son. S more

THE GOOD: -I thought Jimmy Olsen was a somewhat interesting character in this one. -That splash page with Jimmy standing over the sinkhole was really cool. THE BAD: -The art was okay, but I didn't like it enough to consider it good. It felt lifeless and the facial expressions were weird. -Those pages with the "Faith to Cali Yuga" word bubbles were just really visually off-putting. -I'm just not interested in the whole Kobra storyline at all. -The Lizard Person joke was funny the first time, after that it was just plain annoying. -Okay, DC, you clearly want everybody to hate Lois Lane. This review is just straight spoilers, people. I'm too pissed to be vague. The assassination of Lois' character continues as Bendis has her confess to her father that she's in love with Superman and he is the father of Jon. Which means Bendis wrote Lois as giving way a massively important secret about their lives to a person who's antagonistic toward Superman's very existence... without consulting neither Clark nor Jon. It also likely means that the book she is writing is about her marriage/relationship with Superman like the desk image suggests.
