Detective Comics #983

This arc pretty much restarts the book, not only from Tynions superior run, but also from the last issue. The story by Hill is layered, methodical, and unravels like a good murder mystery. The art by Mendona is riveting. Definitely a shift in tone and tempo, as the book moves forward with a brand new feel.

This issue shows us even more vulnerabilities that these characters have, especially Bruce, whose iron fist in leading the Bat Family can be too much and scare people away. The story by Hill revitalizes the canon and gives new looks at these characters and the art by Mondenca is sleek and alluring. Definitely an interesting take on these characters.

The story by Hill is a clever character study that both pushes the readers into uncomfortable spaces and illuminates those dark corridors of Bruce Waynes mind. The art by Briones is arresting and vivid. Altogether, a change in creative teams doesnt slow the book down one bit, but instead provides for a beautiful change.

Buy as this issue gives fans, a deeper look into the dynamics between the Bat Family, and how much of an obsessive-compulsive personality Bruce Wayne has. As his need to be in control of things, lead to the creation of Karma and to his temporary defeat by Karma. The story by Hill, I brisk, intelligent and powerful. The art by Briones is vivid and beautiful. This issue pivots from its last installment to something more than a bad guy of the week, to a past sins story.

This issue shows fans that Batman may not know how to always ask for help, even when he needs it, and though he seems to be in control most of the time, he doesnt always have the answers. The story by Hill is funny at times, brutal at times, and definitely action packed. The art throughout is gorgeous. This issue makes for a satisfying conclusion to the story revolving around Karma and only revs up the next arc.

This issue gives readers a new creative team, and through well-structured plotline, dense character studies and the aesthetics that they employ throughout, they show their love for both the characters and this world. The story by Robinson is fast paced, well developed, and exciting. The art by Segovia is elegant. This issue is a change in tone, story structure and cast of characters, giving fans a sort-of reset on the book.

Detective Comics #989
September 28, 2018
|
|
This issue continues the arc set by Robinson and Segovia, which looks to be part of a bigger scheme that Two-Face has setup. The story by Robinson definitely feels like a crime procedural, one that can almost be an episode of Law & Order, as the story grind at the details like most procedural dramas until you get a breakthrough like most crime TV shows do. The art by Segovia continues to be stellar, which is more than enough reason to re-read this book more than once. Overall, an engaging second installment in what looks to be a very interesting story.

This issue fully realizes the potential of a Two-Face story that fans would hope for. The story by Robinson saunters somewhere between action packed thriller and crime procedural while remembering to tell a good story. This issue explains the setup from the previous issue and gives us a glimpse of what is yet to come. The story by Robinson is fun, action packed and probably some of the best pages of dialogue that I have ever read in comics. The art by Di Giandomenico is pretty awesome, as it both evokes nostalgia and is a style all its own. Overall, an exciting issue that comic book readers can fall right into, and not miss a beat.

This issue gives quite a battle royale between the Bat Family and Kobra, one that exposes more about each character than one would expect from any fight scene. The story by Robinson is exciting and gives readers the fight they have been waiting for. The art by Di Giandomenico is serviceable at best, but right now is not aesthetically pleasing. Overall, an action-packed issue, that barely gives reader a chance to breathe
