In conclusion, the shifted focus off of the Malevolence to me was a good idea, as I never really felt that the idea was strong or really that intriguing. Instead if the book decided to focus on the students at Mystik U and their daily lives it would make for a better series in my opinion. The creative team have impressed me thus far with this series so maybe the Malevolence can be presented in an interesting way. Read Full Review

This series has been a lot of fun and looks amazing. It has a few bumps in the road, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit. The comic features a great cast of characters but Zatanna shines in this issue. This was a much stronger second issue in my opinion. Read Full Review

Overall, this very serious lack of enthusiastic consent drags down an issue that would otherwise be excellent. Fans of Zatanna, or even just fans of the magical side of DC will want to pick it up regardless. These kids have a lot to learn and it should be fun watching them continue to embrace their differences and battle the big bad together at the end. Read Full Review

This second issue of Mystik U is a solid, if somewhat predictable, installment. The characters and their relationships are at the core of this book, and Kwitney manages to write them wonderfully and realistically. This book continues to feel more like a special event than just a mere mini-series, and itll be exciting to see just how all of this plays out, and who the Malevolence may end up being. The first one look like a little book or little Graphic novel. This one at my surprise look like a usual comics. Even if the one was publish in December, we go back in the story pretty easily. Zatana give us a pretty help to have the need to go further. For now Malevolence is here but we still have doubt on is real identity. Plop is too obvious & will not have the emotional effect the writer want to give us, I think. Zee does mistake on mistake & even his a little mean sometime. I wonder how all of this will finish. Cover - Nicely done & related to the story inside 2/2 Writing - It's well done, but I have always a sentiment that leave me with a bitter taste. I sense the Bee sisterhood to be a lost of time, and don't like that is us e as a Deus Ex Machina for invoke Malevolence.2/3 Arts - I liked the art. It's good, but as for the writing, their is something a little off. 2/3 Feeling - A weird reading. I like it, but not fondly. 1/2 more
