Part FOUR of a four-part Marvel cosmic event! WAR!
This is the Marvel Cosmic event I've been waiting for! The twists and turns throughout the story kept me on the edge of my seat and this story restores the Cosmic side of the Marvel Universe to a status quo that is ripe for more stories going forward. I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us down the road. Read Full Review
Imperial #4 is a stellar finale that's more a springboard than a closure. It delivers explosive action, a killer reveal, and profound philosophical questions about power. It perfectly sets the stage for future galactic conflicts in series like Imperial Guardians and Exiles, promising that the fallout from this war is far from over. Read Full Review
Imperial #4 is a fantastic end to the series setting up what's to come and making an early case that the cosmic series to spin out of it, might be the most intriguing stuff Marvel is putting out right now. It hints at a grand, sweeping political drama with allies being made and agreements being broken. You never know who you can trust, as characters once thought of as heroes now have a much more sinister cloud hanging over them. It's an event that shook up and breathed life into dozens of characters and did it all in just four issues. Read Full Review
Imperial Issue 4 reenergizes a whole universe. The quest to return to the status quo has passed, and all that exists now is a fight for supremacy. Read Full Review
Imperial#4 manages to simultaneously be entertaining yet confounding in is obtuseness and rushed ending. The cosmic order reset doesn't really feel like a huge shift in status quo as promised but rather a shuffling of the deck: the cards are all the same, just in a different order. That said, it's been a wild ride, and one that readers should look forward to revisiting to parse out the ins and outs of Hickman's dense storytelling odyssey. Read Full Review
Imperial #4 does exactly what it needed to do to create an exciting future for Marvel's cosmic corner of characters. The fights are as epic as you expect from a finale with a galaxy spanning final battle. It leads the fallout being even more impactful that creates an investment in most of the characters involved in this event. Read Full Review
Imperial #4 closes out Marvel's latest cosmic event with explosive art and an ambitious setup, but it sacrifices emotional depth for future plotting. It's not so much a finale as it is a springboard: Gorgeous, grand, and just a bit hollow. Read Full Review
Imperial #4 is cosmic Marvel firing on all artistic cylinders but spinning frantically when it comes to plain storytelling. The art is breathtaking, but the narrative burns out, leaving fans stranded. If you like kinetic spectacle, show up for the visuals, but bring a map to keep track of who, what, where, why, and how. Even then, it doesn't help. Read Full Review
Plot
Peter/Star Lord, Nova, and Shuri try to stop the war between the Skrulls caused by Maximus and Black Bolt, blaming the Skrulls for this "coup d'état."
But politics are dirty, and Black Bolt succeeds, becoming the most important ruler in the galaxy, even though many know the truth, including T'challa.
T'challa asks Shuri to take care of Nova so she'll abandon her desire to reveal the truth. Star Lord, on the other hand, assumed this new regime because it gave him a good political position.
The galaxy has a new union of planets, which includes not only the Shi'ar and the Skrulls.
Black Bolt now leads the galaxy as the supreme civilization, the Inhumans. Black Bolt even banishes Maximus af more
The narrative is very confusing and the story is just overcomplicated nonsense. I really don’t understand the black bolt’s behavior (or black panther’s, for that matter). I usually love Hickman’s work, but imperial is marvel’s worst summer event in recent memory.
Space Black Panther talks a lot but he never really does anything.
Space Hulk looks mean but we only see him hit someone once (and why does he need to wear armor)?
Space Female Black Panther is awfully angry.
Space Wakanda is one of the stupidest thing Marvel has done.
Space Black Bolt doesn't do anything.
Space Maximus is stupid - as are Space Inhumans.
Space Nova becomes a Space Rorschach.S
Space Wanda's absurdly retconned child is lame.
Space Hulk's artificially aged children are lame.
Space Mar-Vell's artificially aged children are lame.
Space Hickman wrote a boring Space Opera, with art that was FAR superior to the story.
Have a nice day.
