Absolute Power #1 felt serious, like things that were happening mattered.
Task Force VII #1 feels like the writer thought "this comic has two kids as center characters, so of course it needs to be comic relief!"
It also doesn't add anything interesting to the main event. Yes, they were imprisoned, Parasite is probably dead or unconscious, at least, and now we wait for the next issue.
One word to describe Task Force VII #1: pointless.
I hope the next one is better.

Another solid Absolute Power tie-in by Jeremy Adams!
I miss him writing The Flash, but I am so happy he's on the Green Lantern book! That dude can do no wrong, it seems!
But the back story by Marc Guggenheim also deserves a lot of praise. It was a short, emotional, awesome ride, that gives us a little bit more depth on the situation involving the Green Lantern Corps.
Simply amazing!

If Ram V is smart, and if he decides to keep the "refugees welcome" storyline, he will make it a little more nuanced than that. Maybe writing an arc where one of the gods actually does something bad and treats earth like his or her playground. Because that would be an actual commentary on today's politics, like, are ALL refugees welcome? Every single one of them? Even the ones who will kill a random baby with a knife? Or, in the case of the DC universe, a god who would cause a death and not feel remorse for that? I mean, the people from Apokolips are there.
