I have a feeling if we had this years ago he would give watchmen, dark knight returns and any issue of the dark phoenix saga a 6 at best. Why read modern comics at all if you just think everything is bad to mid?

Seriously, it feels like this guy's sole purpose is to dis everything that comes out in a week lol. He just doesn't seem to enjoy reading comics...

I totally agree with you guys. He rarely gives good reviews. He seems to hold vendettas If you look at his reviews on here, the amount of red and yellow is a joke. People might lose out on a great story because of his joyless reviews.

I mean the guy has every right to have his own opinion and feelings on the books and to stand by them. But from this review, it seems he is really doing himself a disservice by not allowing himself to enjoy different comics from what he expects a certain title to be. Personally, I think it's way better to judge something based on what it is and not what you expect it to be. It's just the better bet.

Criminology! Yes. I think that's the smartest comment I've ever seen on here. Kudos my friend. Of course, he does have the right but his unfair expectations may dissuade someone from picking this comic up.

Yeah, I get you. But I think that the people who would not pick the comics up because of him and his resonings, should really not pick the issue. Like if his arguments appeal to them, they are obviously not the target audience and would have only wasted their money on something they would not like, which in turn would probably bring other negative reviews built on the same basis. But still, i don't think anybody takes any of the critics so seriously unless they all agree with something.

But challenging stuff and talking about stuff like this IMO is really good and i hope Gabe Hernandez sees this, so he would have a chance to reevaluate things or at least make his case.

If you didn't read something (completely), then don't score it. It's simple.

This comic really was a chore for me tho get through. The more I read the more disappointed I became. It just did not feel like Batman. But at least it didn't follow the recent pattern of (overly sad Batman) that we have been stuck with since 2016. I'm going to try re-reading this, but I can't say that I'm in a rush to do so.

I can't imagine only reading 6 pages of a 40-page comic you paid $5 for. It's not difficult reading, and the title character shows up on page 17.

I have to agree with the reviewer on this one. I've also bought many a single issue that turned out to be such a chore to read that I never bothered to finish them. I've also taken chances buying some $20 (or more) trades that were just not enjoyable at all. They sat in my "To Be Read" pile for years until I finally gave them away.

Then don't rate it lmao it's not that hard. If you want to score it, you read the complete thing. It's one issue that barely takes time.
