X-Factor #9

Overall X-Factor continues to be one of the best x-books out. This one especially is such a fun and exciting read and visually outstanding on top of it. If you have been following X-Factor then this is a must-read. If you haven’t, go back to issue six and start reading, you don’t want to miss this. Actually read all of X-Factor, it’s just that good! X-Factor #9 is another standout issue of a standout book. Williams is a great writer- she knows how to balance plot and character perfectly. She sets a beautiful scene, and it all plays out wonderfully. As good as her writing is, Baldeon and Silva make it look amazing. Under their hands, it comes to life on the page. I'm not sure why X-Factor is ending"the fan support was definitely there and it had a lot more relevance than some other X-Books"but we'll at least get to see these characters enjoy a big Gala... which frankly feels like this comic's place to shine. Read Full Review

What a bittersweet issue. I was not on the boat when this series started but man now I don't want off of it. This comic does characterization and building a team so well. I love the interactions and the interpersonal relationships they've established and this issue is just a great chapter in solidifying this a place in the current X-Men era. The art is also so good as it goes from having some many dynamic ways to tell the story and make you care about each character that comes in with their great designs and vibrant colors that make this book pop. I was always intrigued to find out more in this little corner of the world they've built. I don't know if many of you have heard that this book is nearing its end, but I highly recommend reading t his before it goes and hope it comes back in some shape or form. more

X-Factor #9 is a serviceable wrap-up to the Morrigan arc despite being somewhat clumsily tied into the dangling threads from the Mojoworld arc from earlier in the series. While not a perfect series by any stretch, I am disappointed to see X-Factor end after next issue.

It really is a shame that this story is ending with issue 10. I honestly thought this X-title had so much potential. Not sure why we're losing this and gaining X-Corps... but money makes the comic world go round.

It was a fun read, but X-Factor lacked agency. Yes, they figured out the problem and the solution, but the solution was subcontracting the fight to Shatterstar. And subcontracting AGAIN to get Dazzler and the New Mutants to fetch Shatterstar.

Obviously Leah was in a hurry due to Marvel fucking her plans up, but I think she juggled things well all things considered. The part with Shatterstar and Morrigan was completely incomprehensible to me. I'm not sure what I was missing really. Other than that the paneling was great. It was a very stylish issue. And I'm liking how useful they made Trevor's powers. It's tough being a Cypher-like character in X-Men comics.

Series is ending at #10. Instead of writing a story that makes sense, everything is thrown against the wall and the results smear down as expected. Unnecessary data page between Northstar and Mirage. They barely know each other, now they're long lost besties? Mirage being thanked especially for doing...what exactly? Shatterstar simply going in and killing the baddie. No conflict, just a sloppy resolution. There is a germ of something good here but execution is lacking. As crazy as comics are, they should make a degree of sense and not feel quite so frantic.
