Given the name of the title it would've been easy for Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo to have this just be a showcase of Wolverine unbridled rage filled revenge. That is not what we get. Read Full Review

Plot Wolverine is enraged to see how Deadpool, Omega Red, Sabretooth and Colossus cruelly murdered Bucky and Captain America, the world is in ruins and its heroes fallen, but Wolverine is going to get revenge. To get those responsible he asks Forge for help, who takes him to the crater where Magneto is buried after stopping Asteroid M, from his corpse, Woverine recovers his helmet, which Forge reinforces. Wolverine reaches the city controlled by Wyngarde, better known as Mastermind, who has the entire population controlled by his mental fantasy, Wolverine since he is immune to his mental power because he uses Magneto's helmet attacks him and asks him for the location of Deadpool, Omega Red, Sabretooth and Colossus, as he does not giv e it to him, he decapitates him and for Forge to analyze his memories with a machine. Wolverine now has the location of everyone and decides to go first for Sabretooth. With a motorcycle modified by Forge, Wolverine uses a special light that takes away Sabretooth's mutant powers, so Wolverine's claws take advantage of hurting him in any way. The action sequences are dynamic and with explicit violence, but totally necessary for the script. Shocking second installment where no one is safe from dying, it seems the world is ending and Wolverine unleashes his revenge, even if it is the last thing he will do in his life. Art It is organic with many details and that imprint of Capullo, who achieves sequences with daring and great angles, heroic poses and a hypnotizing dynamism. Summary Wolverine asks Forge for help to track down those responsible for the massacre that ended with Cap and Bucky more

I love a good apocalyptic/post-apocalypse story. The interaction between Wolverine and Fury at the beginning was fun and well done, in fact all of Wolverine's various interactions were fun and well done in this book. Dani, Mastermind, Forge, Sabretooth, they all were well written and fitting for the characters. It goes without saying the book is fantastically drawn. It was a little surprising that he went for his classic rival first, something like that would usually be drawn out til near the end, but it was great. This is going to be an outstanding standalone mini-series and I can't wait for each next issue.

Critics continue to fail this comic. The best Wolverine comic and years and it isn't being celebrated as such. Boring, negative, joyless critics.

Greg Capullo works really well as the artist for Wolverine. Maybe its because Wolverine is street level like Batman
