If you like psychological thrillers, Venom is a real treat. Continuing to evolve what this character can do and possible futures for him in a way that spans time and space is incredibly rewarding. Venom #29 is an interesting chapter Eddie Brock's storyline that comes a bit too late, throwing off any readers who expected the arrival of a symbiote-empowered Black Widow to usher a new era for Venom. Read Full Review

Venom #29 picks back up on the Eddie Brock side of things as we see more of the other Kings in Black, this time focusing on the green alternate version called Tyro. We get excellent art with Cafu back on the interior art and Frank D'Armata on colors. Tyro's journey into becoming Meridius is a little slow but it picks up real quick as we see not just the physical but mental transformation from one character into the other. Read Full Review

So glad to have Ewing & CAFU back on this series, even if it's only going to be for one more issue until going back to Torunn Grønbekk. I'd like to get it out of the way that CAFU, once again, gives us some incredible art in this issue. Every page he does is so smooth. Now, onto the story. I've really been loving the time-based story Ewing has been building here with each of the different iterations of the King in Black, and we finally get to Meridius with this one. I thought Ewing did a great job with the transition from Tyro to Meridius. I feel like this part of the story has been a long time coming and I'm so glad it's here. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the next issue plays out with Eddie arriving on the final page.

this is some good shit, and I love the unraveling of Mereidus history. Al Ewing may not be my favorite, but I'm slowly warming up to him. And of course Cafu's art is extraordinary.

Al Ewing is back on Venom and so am I. I had to read this twice to follow the loops and understand this story and I still got lost in some threads that I'm sure are setup ups for the future. I like it a lot and not many writers can get me thinking and concentrating on this craziness. Cafu is also back on art and he is phenomenal and even better before. D'Armatta colors the heck out it too so I highly recommend this.

Its a lot to take in. I just can't wrap my heard around some of these Ewing issues, but they do take you on a ride that's part confusing and rewarding at the same time.
