The symbiote mythology continues to expand and as Cates’ time on the series draws close to an end it’s clear he’s giving his all to Venom. Cates is adding more richness to the way these aliens work while plodding forward with Eddie's personal journey in finding resolution as a man who can't see how he's a hero. Weird Science Marvel Comics - wolfcypher
Feb 04, 2021Iban's art combined with all the screen time Eddie Brock and Flash Thompson share together are the highlights of this chapter in the King in Black saga. This issue co-exists perfectly with the happenings take have unfolded over in the main King in Black book, giving this issue a lot of merit as an essential tie-in. However, expect quite a bit of inaction from our main heroes for most of the book before they finally take the fight to Knull. Read Full Review

Each number of this arc and King in Black plays with the emotions of the reader, the beginning we gave the battle for loss, slowly in each number it gives us hope and then demolishes them and leaves us in insecurity. The Dragon please, it was just great.

I really liked this Venom Run and this issue is bitter sweet seeing Eddies journey coming to an end. These tie ins work great when read side by side with the main issues.

Dylan's real-world fight in KiB #3 has an impact on the Hive Eddie's stuck in. He and Flash take advantage, fighting their way toward freedom -- but Knull isn't letting Eddie go just yet. This comic lives on a string of awesome moments, points where the writer or the artist go above and beyond to make you say "coool." Those moments work very well, and there's more than enough awesome to make up for a plot that doesn't quite stand up to close scrutiny.

The build-up truly culminated in a suicide run for the century that Flash Thompson made that could almost make me forgive him for beating up Peter Parker in the '60s. Even Eddie got to redeem himself here, and the whole concept of these hosts battling their way back from symbiote hell - it's just that classic Jesus-arc the Christendom really loves to rehash over and over with a saviour rising from below to sit on high. Ive been enjoying Venom throughout the king in black tie ins. Its adding a lot of depth and feels like it means something.

With so much Flash Thompson action there's no way this can be bad. Really enjoyed this one, finally the plot is moving forward much faster than before.

Very good issue. The moment between Peter and Dylan was pretty good and the interaction between Brock and Flash was good. Some of the plot stuff could have been more well written though.
