Did we need an entire issue devoted to a fight scene honoring Doc Ock and Spider-Man's history? Probably not, and while it's drawn to perfection, it also feels like an unnecessary issue as we wait for Supernova- an underwritten character, to say the least- to be defeated already. This issue was full of cheesy & campy writing, nostalgia-baiting and fan-service. And I loved all of it.

while I was a bit annoyed that Peter Parker keeps on losing and needs help, but the ending made up for it. also, Mark Bagley is the definitive Spider-man artist in my opinion.

I like Superior in general, but this issue fell a little too far at the sloppy/indulgent end of the spectrum. The story logic in the last few pages didn't quite click for me. The art is great and the book is very readable, although this run still hasn't really firmly established its reason for existing. I would guess that we're here to either rehabilitate or kill off Otto; of the two options, rehabilitation seems like the more interesting.
