But Why Tho? - Collier "CJ" Jennings

Marvel Voices: Legacy #1is a love letter to Black heroes, as well as Black comic book readers. If you have a favorite Black hero, chances are they're represented in this one-shot. It is a must-read, not only for Black History Month but for all comic fans. Hopefully we continue to see more one-shots like this in Marvel's future for other characters and creators of marginalized identities. Read Full Review

    Comic Crusaders - M.R. Jafri

The rest of the stories are all well done and some are just so different in their perspective that it feels like an independent comic rather than a Marvel book. It is interesting how little politics comes into play here. The political injustice is only emphasized when it's taking place in other nations. The injustices within our own borders just are barely touched upon. That being said the real power here is all of the incredible perspectives and amazing artwork emphasizing these rich, realized characters from so many walks of life. This book is a wonderful start but we definitely need more of this in mainstream comics. Not only diverse voices and artists but also a feeling of editorial freedom where creators can go beyond traditional stories and perspectives. Read Full Review

    Major Spoilers - Christopher Rondeau

    Feb 26, 2021

Anthologies gives us a chance to see some of our favorite heroes away from their main titles. For some people, this may be a skip because anthologies don't have the depth you may want from the comics. But this one is done very well, it shows them being heroes and how they act in their everyday lives. Read Full Review

Marvel's Voices continues to be a good anthology series with each story holding a message that's easy to understand, sometimes enlightening, and above all else positive. More importantly, this book continues to highlight less familiar creators and give them a chance to shine. For a book like this, they achieved that and more. Read Full Review

The stories here aren't meant to be groundbreaking, necessarily, but they are supposed to shed new light on some characters that we may not see all that frequently. And to that end, it serves as not only a great read, but a fantastic way to celebrate this month-long observance. Read Full Review

Black Nerd Problems - Chris Aiken

    Mar 01, 2021

I feel like this second attempt succeeds with most of its stories. These snapshots aren't the grand stories that we often find in the pages of an ongoing series but smaller moments that speak to the core of the characters. To an extent, the stories feel less self-indulgent than the previous Marvel Voices comic. The creators focus more on the moments they are trying to convey and the character. With that in mind, .you'll find some great reads. Read Full Review
