Incredible Hulk #12 begins a new story that takes the angry duo of Bruce and the Hulk into a dark journey into the Soul Cage. The comic opens up strong with the arrival of Hulk at Strange Academy in a way that only the Hulk can, loud and destructive. It's also good to see Brother Voodoo naturally factor into the story in a way that makes sense considering his expertise. Granted, this feels like a side quest since it takes time away from developing the main plot with Eldest and the Mother of Horrors. However, thanks to Nic Klein's art and the emotional beats of this story, there's still plenty of potential for a solid Hulk story here. Read Full Review

This sets up a very promising arc! And we get multiple gruesome transformation scenes which have been the highlight of this book.

Full disclosure, I was going to drop this book if this issue wasnt great. The last arc was a disaster but I heard that PKJ was asking people to hold on till this arc happened. So I did, and this is a great start. I am glad I waited. Klein's art at this point has become critical to this book. Without it the story doesnt feel right. If they cant keep Klein on for longer stints, I dont think this book will survive. Otherwise, from a plot perspective, a lot has moved forward and wow did I like the end half of this book. First half was just ok but end half, especially with Banner in the other world is great. This arc promises a bunch of tense moment and Banner and Hulk are going to have to have some long overdue conversations.

This issue was good. The last few have been pretty bad so it's good to have a good to see it deliver an entertaining story.

A nice step-up from the last few issues. An intriguing start to this arc here and I'm always glad to see Klein on the art duties. I have a feeling this storyline will be really good, and I really hope I'm right. A lot of cool and interesting things set up here.

Great art and awesome to see the Strange Academy kids but unfortunately the stories lack substance for me.
