Hellions #3

Simply put, this is a very impressive series that everyone needs to be reading. HELLIONS #3 is creepy in all the right places with all the wrong characters. Wells uses the mutant land of misfit toys to bring forth one of the best titles currently running at Marvel Comics right now. Match Zeb Wells writing with Steven Segovia's brilliant illustrations and detailed artistic license and you have a book that's 100 times more memorable than the Goblin Queen herself. For a book that, at its inception, felt like it could water down the product, I have to say that I quite enjoyed this issue. I do worry that once the Madeline focus is resolved, will the book falter in the same way as Fallen Angels. After all, both books use the set mission approach, that may not offer much wiggle room. Hellions #3 does a great job of setting up the threat of Madelyne Pryor. Her mania makes sense, but she's just insane enough to keep readers from sympathizing with her too much. This is a good issue, but it has its issues. Pryor is underwritten, but so is the book in general thanks to a decompressed story spanning only a few minutes. It's an exciting fight comic though, and one with some bizarre and weird elements that can't be missed. If you like your entertainment weird, you'll like Hellions. Read Full Review

Ah...maze...ing. Stephen Segovia's art is stellar (especially the fight scenes between Psylocke and Wild Child). Last issue I predicted a "psychic smack-down" for Wild Child and Psylocke delivered that and more (via the "old ways"...). Kudos to Zeb Wells too. The story is developing nicely. It seems the Goblin Queen Maddie holds a grudge... (p.s. to the Kwannon-Psylocke haters that are going to give this issue a "1" rating because they are butt-hurt that Betsy Braddock isn't Psylocke anymore, give it a rest. Enjoy Excalibur and take your SALT with you, nobody needs high blood pressure during the pandemic).

I suppose you are talking about me... I told you I am not a hater. I don't hate anyone, much less fictional comic-book characters. The book has improved, Psylocke was great. It's just my personal opinion. Peace, please, be friends. And we don't have pandemics in Taiwan, so if you want a safe pleace, come to my country :)

Zeb Wells has managed to consistently deliver the goods with this series! Maddie and Havok's interactions are intriguing and Kwannon's domination over Wild Child was fun to see. Here's hoping X Of Swords doesn't derail the quality.

This won me over. It was just really well done. Creepy, well-paced, pretty good art. Although, I'm not totally sold on all these characters.

This doesn't quite reach the 9/10 mark for me, but I did think it was the best issue of the run so far. Segovia's art is pretty solid, though he does draw Madelyne a little weird on certain pages. As for Wells, he continues to tell a story that's dark and fun at the same time. He's really starting to get me interested in characters that I knew little-to-nothing about going into this series.
