For being the first issue of a story arc, I am okay with being a bit confused because it only intrigues me to want to read more. But, that is all we got from this issue. I am intrigued about the enemy and the cliffhanger, which are the two big things in my opinion. The art was very good! The dialogue was good from what we got, even though it felt like we didnt get much talking from a couple of our team members. Guardians of the Galaxy #7 launches a big, cinematic arc by introducing a big, cinematic threat, and the Guardians' first swing at it does NOT go well. The highlights are the fast, dramatic plotting and some truly epic arc. Character is taking the backseat and letting Story drive for now, but the destination looks promising enough to justify that imbalance. Read Full Review

The latest threat to the Galaxy and the Guardians' disastrous first swipe at it are revealed in flashback. It's fast, it doesn't hesitate to peg the stakes to the highest point, and it's illustrated impressively. But there's a continued, now chronic, lack of characterization. The identity of the issue's narrator is concealed by the fact that all the characters sound the same as much as by writerly craft.
