The final page puts an emphatic period on the entire experience, forcing the reader to reflect on the very meaning of the moon figuratively in the story and literally via science. Fantastic Four #25 brings a new misadventure for the team of heroes as their contact with Dr. Dooms new latverian dome takes them to a strange and unfamiliar world. The comic is very much a romance story, but reader mileage will vary based on whether they can get invested in the new character and her relationship with Johnny Storm. Sadly, the romance is the weakest part of the comic. However, its not terribly written, its just the comic delivers a more engaging sci-fi scenario for the Fantastic Four thats evocative of classic Star Trek stories. Read Full Review

I do like the focus on hard science in this version of the Fantastic Four. I even liked the twist, at first, that the FF had been on Earth the whole time. Also, Carlos draws a gorgeous Sue (I love how her hair swirls when they're in low gravity/high orbit). But there are not enough positives here to overcome all the negatives. Read Full Review

I haven't been this astonished by a FF run since Hickman, and frankly North is better. My only complaint is that every issue is gone too soon; I read them twice in short succession because I'm never ready to step away.

I swear FF should be a TV show in the same format as Star Trek, this ish only reinforces this feeling of mine. The sci-fi insanity, incredible multi-versal comic science, and the no bars no fear ability to do things that might make some feel strange at the end. So in this ish the team finds some kind of pod that Dr. Doom sealed himself off in, but the crux is anyone who interferes with it gets sent to an unknown time and place. The FF ends up in this weird world with a smaller circumference and less density according to Reed. The team is quickly embraced by these friendly tentacles alien things who aren't in an advance stage, most likely they are in their version of ancient Greece maybe I guess? Well as the team communicated with th ese aliens Johnny falls in love with one named Angelica of the Shore. Some may find this disgusting and weird since these aliens have no human anatomy and are not your typical greys. Not that I'm into the idea and thought it strange, it was kind of funny and cute in its own way. The alien was clearly in awe of these advanced aliens the FF but even with all the differences Johnny is still a babe magnet, I think this is hilarious. Doing more digging Reed discovers that this alien planet is Earth but somehow something interrupted the natural evolution of earth by stopping a planet the size of Mars named Thea from crashing into earth which gave our planet the density and circumference we have now. It turns out this interference was on accident on Dooms part, he unknowingly did this whole testing his new powers as Sorcerer Supreme, because this act would eliminate us every being a thing and so these new species of aliens were the new citizens of this earth. They come to the conclusion that if they reverse this it will end the new species of aliens and Johnny and the team butt heads over this. As I was reading this I was saying there has to be a way to solve this without killing this species, maybe doing something with the multiverse? Well guess what, Reed came up with just the solution to create another timeline. We wouldn't be able to visit this one again because it would cause catastrophic consequences but it would work for both. I loved the out of this world stuff, can we please get a Star Trek esque TV show of the FF please? more

I thought this issue was going to be pure cringe (Johnny falls in love with and alien hahahaheee derp) but it ultimately reminded me of The City on the Edge of Forever from Star Trek and that can't be a bad thing.

Kind of torn on this issue. Biggest miss of this issue that doesnt make it a 10/10 for me. Johnny Romance. A friendship would have been just as good or something. Making out with the alien and forming a romantic relationship was just... weird. That being said the alien concept (its look ect), was actually pretty cool. I enjoy the different non-humanoid look. That being said, the twists were great and I enjoyed that so much. Made for a great story. Also never got between the thing and his kids. Like I agreed with him 100%. Him smacking Johnny felt right and bah to Johnny on his high horse. Though Reed was Reed and rejected reality while imposing his own in true FF fashion. Tl dr, good read minus the inter species make out session s (that happened too much). more

Aside from the weird alien romance angle I believe the story was a great dilemma to have the F4 go up against. Ryan North is a good here but sometimes he goes into weird and bit creepy area. Carlos Gomez is always tight and makes it all look fantastic!

This was a really good issue with cool hard science fiction concepts plus a nice love story with Johnny, but this series is starting to feel repetitive without a main overarching plot.
