Doctor Strange #18 is a sharp departure from the usual. A standalone house call involving an invading demon is such a deliciously simple concept for a Doctor Strange issue. Surprisingly, a story like this hasnt been tried more often in the long and winding history of the series. Its a great deal of fun. Read Full Review

Back in familiar territory at last with a story more suited to Strange and his personality. With some up close and personal interaction and mild threat of a breach in the dimensional barriers thrown in. As well as a bit of cosmic plumbing for good measure. Read Full Review

This is an excellent story contained in a single issue. The concept is charming, the execution is hilarious. You don't need to read any of the other Doctor Strange issues to enjoy it so don't hesitate to check it out.

This issue scores especially well on timelessness. Doc wearing his current wetsuit costume is the only thing that ties this one-off to any particular era; with a clothes change, this could fit smoothly into any of six decades of Strange stories. The efficient, effective, succinct way the supporting characters are established deserves to be studied by aspiring storytellers.
