Great stuff! Won't be for everyone but definitely worth a read if this type of superhero comic book craziness is your thing! Read Full Review

Well worth checking out if you are a fan of Doctor Octopus and want to see a story centred around him without Spiderman turning up to ruin everything. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - William Tucker

    Feb 16, 2022

Devils Reign: Superior Four #2 is a much better issue. The reader is comfortable with the plot now. The dimension-hopping aspect is fun and Thompson is adventurous with his decisions. The character is explored by using alternate versions of himself to highlight the key themes of his personality. The art is amazing and the battles are chaotic. What damages it is that it still seems so far removed from Devils Reign that its actually in another universe. No Daredevil, no Fisk, not even a Moon Knight or Purple Man. On its own, its an effective story, but as a tie-in it lacks a connection. Read Full Review

There's too much happening of too little consequence in Devil's Reign: Superior Foes to pay much attention past the confusion found here. Read Full Review

I feel the same way about this one as I did the first. This is not the type of book I would usually like but again I really like the way it's written.

Doc Ock just can't admit he's not the best.

The tie-in reveals itself to be unnecessary here. Otto can be an extremely fun character to read, so the fact that this book isn't a delight is a crime. It's just boring, man.

I liked the first issue, but this? This just felt like it dragged on and the writer desided Otto to be much more two-dimensional now. A disappointment for sure.

The pretentious vocabulary is still like nails on a chalkboard to me, and I think the pace is messed up (too slow). But I do think the core plot is fundamentally sound. The art's pretty fun. This series' protagonist is hardly related to the Otto in the main Devil's Reign series, and in general, this is about 20% more megalomaniacal than I like my Ock.

Boring. Otto Doom, Otto Banner, Otto Parker, Otto Ghost Rider, and so on list will continue increasing. For every Marvel Character, there is a reality where Otto or Gwen is that character.

Liked the first issue, but this one was a long, drawn-out mess. I'm done with it.
