Jan 28, 2021Except somehow this is the last issue of the run, showing just how pointless Marvel makes crossovers by not even allowing them to build momentum and an audience for their books. They're continually resetting books rather than letting a run as fun as this find a larger audience. More than anything this book proves just how great a writer Kelly Thompson is. Even if this crossover can't find more fans for this run it'll certainly create some new fans for Kelly Thompson. Read Full Review

Geek'd Out - Nico Sprezzatura
Jan 27, 2021I know from anecdotal experience that artist Gerardo Sandoval apparently isnt to everybodys taste, but I do really enjoy his work and think it serves the material here well. Deadpool is first and foremost a product of the '90s, and its always been my opinion that Sandovals art retains enough of that era in style to make it appealing while still being modern enough that it doesnt come off as retro. There are some genuinely great images in this issue (e.g. Deadpool getting sucked into a symbiote monstrosity with twisted limbs, him presenting a wall of fact cards depicting his allies, generally any appearance of Jelby but specifically when he becomes a Megazord containing the team), and I think that helps make this issue feel substantial enough to check out. It's a shame this is the last issue. This run was much better than the previous one, but it seems like sales just can't compete with Duggan's run from a few years back. But this run was unfairly hampered by a pandemic and delays, so I'm kind of annoyed that it got shafted. Hopefully whatever comes next is good too.

My sorrow at seeing this title go is kept in check by seeing Kelly Thompson send it off with a rehash of her comedy highlight reel. (To be more specific, she lost me on the interview montage page and never got me back.)

Been awhile since I picked up the Merc since he went Hollywood. This was cute , funny , and action-packed as a D.P. book should be. It's really a shame this is the last issue this volume wasn't given a chance It was a step up from the previous volume in my opinion. It's also a shame they were forced to end it with a tie in issue. This was my least favorite issue of the run
