Daredevil #20 kicks off a haunting new arc as Matt Murdock battles guilt, temptation, and a mysterious plant-based threat infecting Hell's Kitchen. Ahmed dives deep into faith and failure, while Jos Luis Soares brings a stylish, eerie vibe to the visuals. The physical and spiritual threats come at Daredevil from the inside, making for an interesting read as Murdock challenges his faith and guilt. The past will also resurface in Nyla Skin and the armored costume, so how much will they hurt and/or help? Wounds are closing, but mysteries are forming that seem very promising. Read Full Review

Plot Matt wakes up in the arms of Nyla, an old love whose chemistry is unsustainable. She lives in the Property Tower, where Matt currently resides while he sorts out his life after returning to his legal profession. But Matt is still focused on Elektra and the case she's investigating about Wilson Fusk's disappearance after being exorcised from the demon of greed. Kingpin gave away all his fortune and disappeared, repenting of all his life as a criminal. Leaving Nyla's apartment, Matt runs into a woman worried about her daughter's disappearance named Sayeda, so he puts on his new BLACK ARMOR suit because his super-sensitive skin can't stand the red suit with all its rips and wear. Matt intrigues and uses his skills to get a lead; many people disappear in the Property Tower. Both Matt and Sayeda's mother suffer from hives that transform into a fungus that releases spores and causes people to faint. They are then kidnapped by a group of people in contagious disease suits. A new story arc full of mystery and secrets. Art It's very detailed, with well-represented anatomy, as well as classic action elements. Summary Matt tries to get his life back on track after overcoming the demon war, but a mystery in his girlfriend Nyla's building turns deadly. more

I'm surprised at just how much I enjoyed the first issue of this arc. There's a lot of baggage from Ahmed's run at this point but this issue does a good job at showcasing Matt's current situation. Plus it has great art, and intriguing start to a larger story, and a nice reason for Daredevil to bring back his armoured suit. I just plain loved this.

I really, and I mean REALLY like the art here. And one thing about Daredevil is that he does have consistent runs. This run isn't ground-breaking, but its entertaining.

While not the greatest thing, it was nice to move on from that long ass arc. The ending was pretty cool.

I am so glad the Seven deadly sins arc is over with. The new storyline is weird in a good way and actually has me intrigued. Art is great too IMO. The reason I’m still giving it a low score is for a few reasons: -It took 20 issues to get to a new storyline -I think the black armor suit is unnecessary and simply there just to shake things up -Matt and Foggy just not speaking anymore again -As predicted, Matt’s resurrection has been completely brushed over and we still haven’t learned how he came back besides “god did it” For anyone that’s read this far, who would you like see write/draw for DD next?
