Word Of The Nerd - Cat Wyatt

    Oct 14, 2020

Captain Marvel #22 is the start of a new plot arc for Carol, and yet it is one that feels familiar. Connected to Captain Marvel: The End, this plot is going to give fans a chance to finally get some answers, all while leaving room for hope"and concern. Only time will tell how Carol is going to resolve the current situation she's found herself in. Read Full Review

Lee Garbett delivers some impressive art both in the character moments and in the action. The tone of the art complements the tone of the story really well and there is some great imagery throughout. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

If you've been along for Thompson's ride on Captain Marvel, you'll love this issue. It builds on previous stories and continues to set a high bar for dialogue and good ideas. If you're interested in big event-level storytelling (and maybe X-Men don't do it for you), you're going to want to check out this new story arc. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Kellie Keener

    Oct 14, 2020

After the Empyre event seemed to drag on, Captain Marvel #22 is an exciting return to a Carol-centric story that doesnt require reading multiple other books to understand.   Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - Charles Martin

    Oct 14, 2020

Captain Marvel #22 launches Carol Danvers into a new arc, revisiting the grim future of her recent "The End" one-shot. Contemporary Carol struggles to understand this new world, and the creators do a stellar job of making her struggle compelling. With strong art and fine characterization, this issue kicks off another formidable long-form story in this most impressive volume. Read Full Review

    ComicBook.com - Matthew Aguilar

Writer Kelly Thompson shocked the hell out of me in Captain Marvel #22, tying into a one-shot that revealed a much harsher yet incredibly intriguing future that Cap managed to help. Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Johnny "The Machine" Hughes

Usual. This is a word that carries some negative connotations. This book has been a solid book for quite a while now. As such it is sometimes hard to appreciate a book that maintains quality rather than excel for periods of time. But appreciate it you should as Thompson's familiarity with the character ensures that there is great storytelling in every issue. Don't fail to see if for all the other Marvel books, trying to be this good, on the rack. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - Aaron Anderson

    Oct 15, 2020

I really enjoy the fact that we get to revisit this future timeline, because it gives Captain Marvel a world completely without any continuity hangups to get in the way. It's like an in continuity WHAT IF" comic, or reverse Old Man Logan giving many opportunities for new characters and challenges. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

    Oct 19, 2020

Captain Marvel #22 was a solid start to a new story arc. Kelly Thompson gives this issue a aura of being a fresh start after Captain Marvel took part in the recent Empyre event. Bringing in the setting that was seen in Captain Marvel: The End was also a nice change of pace to create new dynamics between Carol Danvers and other fellow superheroes. Read Full Review

On Comics Ground - Joanna Robinson

    Oct 17, 2020

Captain Marvel can't catch a break even when she is in a good mood. A new adventure is beginning for her but it turns out it's an adventure she has already had. Or at least a future version of her has already had. Can she figure out who is behind bringing her to this strange new world and help her new/old friends? Read Full Review
