Captain Marvel #23 is another great entry in this series. Garbett's artwork lends itself to a rugged future lacking much hope, while he is able to put a really nice touch on the action filled moments. After the wild storyline of the previous arc, I thought "The New World" would be a big of a filler bore, but it is anything but! Lee Garbett and Belen Ortega deliver some great art in this issue. Everything from the characters to the backgrounds is given great details. I really enjoyed the contrast in styles between the different time periods. Read Full Review

Strong characters in a weak setting/premise. I respect the creators for keeping the characters smart even if it means letting them point out the faults in the setting. It's not ideal, but it's better than forcing them to carry the Idiot Ball. (And there is the possibility that the whole setting is some kind of mind-whammy put-on that Carol will fight her way out of.)

This issue was pretty good! Most of it is just expounding on this future AU, and that was just teetering on the edge of interesting and not so interesting. I still liked all the character work here despite that.

I have literally nothing to say about this issue. Art isn't even that great compared to the work i know by Lee Garbett and Belen Ortega. Colors were good tho. So tired of post-apocalyptic futures.
