Plot Dave Colton is out of control, brutally murdering all the soldiers of Latveria. Steve intercepts him. Definitely my favorite issue of the run so far. This book has been a pleasant surprise for me. I disliked Zdarkys Batman and was going to skip this, and I’m glad I didn’t. Also. Important to say that I appreciated how it was a 5 issue initial arc and not 12.

The conclusion to Our Secret Wars is bittersweet for me. Obviously the second Captain, Dave Colton, had to go. But it's disappointing that Zdarsky is seemingly going to turn him into a villain, to return in a future story arc. I enjoyed Colton's ambivalent story and found him much more relatable than the one-dimensional and squeaky-clean Steve Rogers. A part of me wanted to see him as a replacement for Rogers. I will probably pick up next issue, but with Colton gone for the moment (it seems) I doubt that the next arc will keep my interest.

My guess is that this will end up being a prequel to the 2026 summer event written by zdarsky. I hear what you are saying about Colton, but the great villains have tragic backstories. Doom. Magneto. So many others.
