I give this an 8 mostly because it actually moves the plot forward (towards the end of this short series which appears to be issue 10), and the art feels a touch better.
Also I can't help but laugh hard at the conversation between Draven (the guy he killed by mistake in the first issue) and Blade. The "Rumored to be made for Lucifer himself-' 'Been there, the Adana has that.' 'You are filled with disappointments.' Like Draven must be so ticked that the dude who killed him just keeps messing up and making Adana more powerful. He is surrounded by clowns (or in this case dammed souls).
I will echo other comments point that Blade going to hell is a bit weird and not really his wheelhouse. Maybe it is suppose to show how desperate he is.
Oh well, at least the plot is moving. I hope this series can end on a high note because it started so good and then really fell off with the first Adana 'battle'. This at least shows some promise. more

Another super solid issue as we near the end of the series. Once again, it's nice to have Casagrande back doing the art. She always does a really nice job. As for Hill's side of things, I thought the story was good and entertaining. I especially enjoyed the interactions between Blade and Draven. One other point I want to make is about Bald going to Hell. I understand that it's not something he may typically do, but I think it's good for writers to not put the characters they write in the same situation(s) over and over again. Blade going to Hell is cool, in my opinion, and I'd be happy to read it instead of constantly reading about him fighting vampires.

A definite improvement; things are picking up a bit. I think I figured out why this book has been so underwhelming: this particular Blade is such a loser. He's spent the whole run falling for things, messing up, getting his ass kicked, and having boring expository dialogue asking people for help. He just sucks. And while you can't have your protagonist be godlike all the time, this level of bumbling ineptitude combined with a bland plot is at odds with what many Blade fans probably want from the character, which would be something closer to at least a Wesley Snipes level of being a badass. In any case, I'm glad that it seems to be getting better.

What is the obsession with writers wanting to send their characters to Hell? Chip sent Daredevil to Hell to rescue his friends and now Blade is going there to find out information on the Adana. That's not Blade's thing. If anything, he should have teamed up with Ghost Rider. That would have made more sense. It's not like they don't know each other. Once there, of course, he just happens to run into Rotha's father. What a coincidence. I'm really over this story at this point. It feels like it's going nowhere. Let's hope it ends in a couple of issues.
