Space continues to take its toll on the Avengers and they might not make it back to Earth in one piece. Writer Jason Aaron leads readers through epic fight scenes and close-calls throughout the story, ultimately arriving at the pinnacle reveal of the Starbrand's identity. The build up is scripted extremely well, hyping us up little by little with each panel. Read Full Review

Writer Jason Aaron and artist Ed McGuinness hit a home run this issue, leaning as hard as they can into every wonderfully over-the-top aspect of "Starbrand Reborn" they can possibly think of. It's been awhile since the Earth's Mightiest Heroes were this fun! Read Full Review

Aaron and McGuinness definitely deliver some really enjoyable moments across the issue and Aaron's foreboding Silver Surfer is always a good turn for the character. If you are invested in finding out who the new Starbrand is, this is the issue for youor the start of a series of themmaybe. Jason Aaron pads out the affair with fight scenes galore and while it all looked fantastic, it could be skipped since the big explanations are yet to come. OK it was fun and much better from Aaron. It's a shame that things are dragged out so slowly but at least this issue didn't feel like a shore to read. The art from MsGuinness, Medina, Morales and Keith was fantastic and made it very enjoyable. Those details, ink lines and colors were pretty pretty good!

This issue is a whole lot of fun. Pure action-figure fun. Not much in terms of story progression. But what we get is fun. So, it's better than a lot of things. Fun.

This one was good. This avengers run has had its ups and downs. This starbrand story seems to be one of the ups.

The Avengers shout their way through non-stop Herald fights before heading to the Starbrand. It's got Grand Plot ideas and Cool Fight ideas and they're visualized with distinction (though character rendering, as usual, comes out way ahead of creating a sense of motion). As others have noted, the dialogue is pretty bland. I think that, more than anything else, is responsible for the slightly-guilty "This is stupid. Fun but stupid" reaction we're all experiencing.

Avengers 29 is basically one big fight scene. McGuinness’ art is decent but not my favorites, and I feel like the fight scenes went on way too long. As usual, though, this latest installment of Avengers was packed with some awesome moments, including Blade combining with Boy-Thing and War Widow kicking ass. Unfortunately, Jason Aaron writes extremely bland dialogue for this issue and I could not care less about this new Starbrand. Silver Surfer fighting the Avengers was great but the overall pace was just too slow
