May 20, 2018The first strike is made against the Final Host of Celestials, while two former friends battle. Very enjoyable read with the story split in two locations. No Black Panther or Doctor Strange sadly in this installment, so I'm hoping for more of them in two weeks. The visuals are good, going from big to epic equally. This is perfect Marvel reading for all ages. Read Full Review

May 17, 2018The Avengers are back, and I can feel more confident in saying that with this second issue. We have a tight and impressive team fighting a mind-boggling cosmic threat. Jason Aaron is penning a solid story, and the artistic team is rocking it so far. This one gets a recommendation. Give it a read. Read Full Review

May 19, 2018Avengers #2 shows that Marvels fresh start initiative is about more than just explosive first issues. This is a compelling narrative continuation that is gorgeously presented. It showcases all-time greats and modern fan favorites but unfortunately, is still unable to bring the full Avengers team together. Hopefully, we can see all of the Avengers assemble soon, but with Loki in the mix now, that could be mischievously disrupted Read Full Review

May 21, 2018Ultimately, the art is fantastic and the story is an easy read. I do leave wanting more and hope to get some answers in the next issue. Knowing Jason Aaron, I'm sure we will. Definitely pick this up and keep it on your pull. Currently, move it to the top quarter of your comic stack. Read Full Review

Black Nerd Problems - Brandon Lawrence
May 20, 2018Ed McGuinness' art tempered my cynicism into childish glee. The man draws a beautiful comic. Between the characters and the landscapes, the art in this book is God-tier. One particular highlight was Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk glowing red from the fire of Ghost Rider's car; a subtle nod to the Red She-Hulk. For all the criticism that a "big-threat" cliche in these kinds of books gets, it undeniably allows talented artists to shine. Read Full Review

Word Of The Nerd - Brent Jackson
May 18, 2018The Avengers #2 is good, but for me, not quite what it could be. While I am enjoying the mystery of the story it feels like it could be cut down a little and tapered. It feels like too many things are going on at once and is not focused. The art is good, but I am not convinced Ed McGuinness is right for this series. Thor's hammer varies from page to page in size and there are a few awkwardly placed panels. It is not that this is bad, there is a lot I like about this series, it is just that it could and should be better than it is. Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - Charles Martin
May 16, 2018Even more than in their debut, Jason Aaron's Avengers are marking time in #2. While I'd still put my money on this developing into a satisfying epic once the arc is complete, it's just not compelling in single issues. Holding back on this title and gobbling it down in trade-sized chunks might be the best way to approach it. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Rokk
May 22, 2018With the high cover price to comics these days it is incumbent upon publishers to actually provide quality content to the readers with each issue. There is far too much competition for your entertainment dollar in 2018. For just slightly more than double the cover price of Avengers #2 a reader could get an entire months subscription to Netflix. There is simply no way I could ever recommend that a reader spend $4.00 of their money for Avengers #2. Read Full Review

May 19, 2018The character fun at the heart of the first issue is mostly gone as action and massive set pieces take over. Now it's just about crashing the characters and villains into one another, including a surprise villain that is way too overused in this capacity. Read Full Review
