The humor is outstanding, there are fascinating aspects to the story, and now there’s an enemy that is truly terrifying. Prelude: The first issue was good enough but this one needs to sell the series to me. The Good: The recap page was funny. It was a fun issue. I liked the differing bug aspects. The Bad: Cassie was a bit too much against Scott for my liking. Conclusion: This was a really fun issue. Looking forward to where this goes now.

Scott survives his first brush with the bug overlord, MacroThrax, relying to an embarrassing degree on support from Swarm. It's a nice, straightforward superhero vs. supervillain setup. The cutaway scene to Cassie is kind of wedged in, but I'm confident that she has a more relevant role to play in future issues. On the art front, I'm caught in a contradictory position: I can recognize that outstanding visual storytelling is going on, but I'm just not impressed with this style of character rendering.

It's hilarious that Scott makes friends with a former Nazi and doesn't want anyone to know.
