Nick Spencer and Ryan Ottley give us an epilogue to The Hunted story that everyone who is reading Amazing needs to check out, whether they stuck with The Hunted or not. Spencer plants a bunch of future story seeds while wrapping up his event and Ottley makes it all look great. Amazing Spider-Man #23 was a mixed bag of quality. While Spencer set-up several compelling storylines to follow up on later on the overall problems with "Hunted" could not be avoided. Ottley definitely has a particular style. In his linework, Mary Jane with her red hair looks a lot like Eve from Invincible — while Kraven and his manly facial hair resembles Mark's dad from the same book. If nothing else, it made me nostalgic for the amazing book that has since ended. In terms of Spencer, he's left a lot of possible ways forward. We'll see what he has in store. Read Full Review

"Hunted's" epilogue codifies what a complete miss this story has been, an abortive attempt to callback to "Kraven's Last Hunt" that ultimately just acts to remind readers that they could be reading a much, much better story. Read Full Review

This issue is great. I liked it a lot. By the end, I kept flipping through the pages, hoping I'd somehow missed something just so I'd have more of this to read. It's going to be a tough two week wait. I'm just so glad this book is bi-weekly. I'm glad there's actual fallout from Hunted and it isn't just going to get swept under the rug. And I was perfectly okay with the MJ stuff. They didn't do the obvious and it makes more sense for the characters involved, in hindsight. Plus, it would've been so easy. The set up here for the future excites me. I'm just super ready for Nick Spencer's second year of ASM and I'm on board for whatever comes next.

It's great! Hunted didn't end well for me but the epilogue was much better at easing me into liking the outcomes. Love Spencer's style. Ottley, Rathburn Fairbairn work well together.

As I've guessed, the Hunted epilogue was as good as the main story. Really refreshing to finally see Ottley's artwork as well.

ASM 23 is a great tie up of hunted while planting seeds for the future. I can't wait to get the show on the road with this centipede villain and the new kraven is a great way to keep the villain around.

It does a good job of setting things up for the future, but it felt like that is all it was. Also Mary Jane slipping on laundry and putting her arm through a window? Okay... apparently Pete should stop lubing up his clothes.

Meet the new Kraven, same as the old Kraven. This epilogue is crafted OK, but I can't escape the feeling of inconsequentiality. All this volume ever really does is drag Spidey through stories that leave him slightly exhausted but otherwise unchanged. And I know the Mighty Marvel Marketing Department still wants to pretend that Ryan Ottley is this volume's lead artist, but he's had so little to do with the Hunted arc that these visuals come across as third-party commentary rather than a final chapter from a unified creative team.
