Gleason delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue and strikes the perfect tone with the visuals. As great as each page was, the last few pages are some of the best I've seen in this series in a long time. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

    Mar 24, 2021

This is a solid issue thanks to its focus on the humanity and personal stakes each character has in the narrative. Gog is a ridiculous character who's hard to take seriously, but aside from that, this book is structured well and is entertaining through the end. It also offers satisfying action and character melodrama. Read Full Review

    But Why Tho? - Collier

    Mar 24, 2021

Amazing Spider-Man #62 features several callbacks to Nick Spencer's Superior Foes of Spider-Man series, and also features the same mix of hilarity and heartfelt notes as that previous series. Given the ending, it looks like Spidey's troubles with Kingpin aren't over yet-and it looks to delve into another piece of Spider-Man history, particularly the rivalry that Tombstone has with Robbie Robertson. Good, but not great. If you're following this title, plunk down you're $4 with the person at the counter and know you'll be entertained. If you're a "wait and see if I like it" person, you might want to wait for the next issue, as this one isn't as strong as other issues in the series. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

    Mar 25, 2021

Amazing Spider-Man #62 is a fast-paced comic book from beginning to end. There is no time wasted as Nick Spencer develops multiple storylines throughout this issue. The pacing ends up working to the advantage of the storyline as even when there are some weak parts in the story we don't spend to much time on those moments. We quickly move on to focus on the more interesting aspects of the current storyline involving Spider-Man, Boomerang, Wilson Fisk, and other characters. The end result leaves you looking forward to what comes next in Spencer's run on this series. Read Full Review

This was enjoyable issue. It's nice to give the spotlight to the other characters in the book sometimes

This arc is a lot of fun so far. I liked it a lot. Big shock. I just want to point out that whoever is writing these solicitations should be replaced. I understand their goal is to sell the issue, but so many times, they lie.

Sometimes it seems that Spencer uses self-awareness (like how we didn't see Gog until this arc) to highlight the shortcomings in his books and that way neglate the criticism it would get. Does it work? On me, yes it does, I do the same thing. So it's not a negative from me, just a thing I noticed. Other than that, this book works. I'm really liking all of this. I really have no problems with this issue and I'm interested where this will go. After the first round of Kindred storyline, this smaller-scale(-ish) storyline is just what we needed.

I actually enjoyed this issue and it felt much better put together than the previous entries. I hope Spencer keeps it going. Gleason's art is nice but that suit just looks off.

In this number it is light, fun, with a lot of action. There is a bit of intrigue on Kingping's part. It was a good break.

Glad to see that Spencer keeps up with the characters he's been using (Gog, Boomerang, Beetle...). It looks like the series has got back to the light-hearted tone of the first part of this run and I like to see Peter in a more "normal" life. VERY intrigued by the Robbie storyline! Also, Kindred is always there in the background and I think Spencer is waiting for a milestone issue to put him back on track.

Spidey and Boomerang save Gog from Fisk's machinations, and Randy and the Beetle experience a contrived but superbly-executed sitcom revelation in their relationship. This is a small serving of plot development, but the presentation is top tier all the way. And the characterization is good, too.

Its a pretty solid book. I wouldnt say theres much wrong with it but its also not the greatest book you'll ever read either. Love me some GOG and kingpins always cool to see.

I like seeing what became of Gog. I'd wondered over the months since the focus was on Kindred, The Green Goblin and Sin Eater. I'm also glad to finally be back to the basics for Spidey. It's good to get a break from Kindred, even though we know this stuff with him is far from over. I'm also glad to see the Tombstone/Robbie feud being explored once more. Tombstone 's first story and when Robbie was stuck in prison with him are two of my old favorites. I thought Tombstone said they were even though when he gained his new powers, which he loved. But seeing their kids together looks like just what it will take to reignite the old feud. Romeo & Juliet this is not.
