However, Geoff Johns's engaging script is taking the slow train to wherever this story is headed. Jul 12, 2024Johns is really trying to develop a whole world here. Hes been developing it for a few years now, but its still missing something. Theres some sense of novel innovation, but not nearly enough to distinguish it in the sprawling history of post-apocalyptic sci-fi. The clever fusion of that genre with a carefully-crafted superhero universe has been an interesting exercise, but Johns hasnt developed enough from there to keep Geiger fresh a couple of years out from his debut a few years ago.. Plot Geiger and Nate are searching for the whereabouts of Barney, who was kidnapped by the mysterious scientist The Electrician, who leaves a note for Geiger to look for him right behind the airport hangar that is full of organ-stealing mutant/cannibalistic beings called Organ People. . Geiger uses his power to impressive levels, managing to eliminate a number of enemies, almost to the point of depleting his radioactivity, so he is assisted by Nate. They both free a woman and her child who were going to be devoured by the Organ People. Electrician confesses his plan, he wants Geiger's head and heart to sell to the highest bidder, so he electrocutes Nate and throws Boron powder at Geiger, which leaves him neutralized. I'll start with my one negative take away, the book seemed over way too soon. Felt like half as long as the pages were. Great art as always, I enjoyed all the character touches and details. The story is continuing to be very interesting and now the stakes are increased a lot. But it still feels like there should have been more to the issue.

Heading somewhere that might get me to be 100% in but not there yet. I didn't need the action scenes but it still welcomed addition and I like the way Gary Frank puts his 110% into it. I really want Junkyard Joe to be tied in well here and make me care but we'll see.

It's action heavy. The art is great as always, but this little villain gave this issue the stakes it needed to matter.

I enjoyed the pacing of the book better this issue and Nate wasn't anywhere near as annoying. Parts of the art are still looking rushed but overall the story is starting to lead somewhere
