    But Why Tho? - CJ

Transformers: Beast Wars #1perfectly hits the balance between being a reboot of theBeast Wars series and celebrating the series' 25th anniversary, with art and writing that makes it feels like the pilot for a new animated series. Lifelong Beast Wars fans and newcomers to the franchise will want to pick this book up, and I personally can't wait for future issues. Read Full Review

The art is different. The story is tweaked, but faithful. It's a pair of nostalgia glasses with your trusty old frames, but shiny new lenses. This makes me very hopeful for what's to come! Read Full Review

If I can't have Erik Burnham writing Ghostbusters comics, then this is a great alternative. As a guy who's brand-new to Beast Wars, this was the perfect introduction, while being an awesome and enjoyable read. I'm sure that long time fans will enjoy it just as much. Read Full Review

Transformers: Beast Wars #1 is a good introduction to the property. It has me excited to see what's next and has me wanting to go back and watch the animated series. It's fun in many ways. Its focus on the personality of the characters, as opposed to the action, gives it a different voice from other Transformers comics too. It's a celebration of 25 years and has me excited for the next 25. Read Full Review

Writer Erik Burnham delivers that, and Josh Burcham's art makes the transition from 3-D to 2-D a graceful one. But it does feel like a missed opportunity to do something a little more transformative (no pun intended) with this property. Read Full Review
