A really well done introduction to the new incarnation of Young Justice. While it is not firmly placed into the core of the DC Universe, the mere fact that it is not, and actively deals with the mystery of where these kids have gone, and why they are not all part of continuity, makes it feel like it will be a very important book going forward. As a whole, this issue is a delightful conclusion to an incredibly unexpected adventure. The team truly feels like a team, and has a very clear reason to stick together after their opening adventure. Young Justice #6 successfully closes the series opening arc, establishing the protagonists, and setting the stage for whats next to come. Thoroughly fun and exciting, the issue would be perfect, if not for the cop-out regarding Superboys family, and confusion regarding Cassies memories. Bendis seemed to abruptly get bored with the Gem World arc, but with the introductions out of the way we can start to see his vision for the direction of this title. It should be a fun adventure. Read Full Review

This first arc had some flaws " it tried to do so much that it short-changed some of the characters, and its storytelling was rather decompressed " but there's no question it's easily the most entertaining "young DC" book we've had in years. Overall, more care should have been taken on Young Justice and likely it should have been given a 12-issue arc to really devote the time necessary to flush out all of the characters, and the story properly. All that being said, I am still hanging on reading Young Justice. Like I said, there is just something about all these characters that I find extremely interesting. While I love the art in this book and the background given to what Superboy's been up to, this issue didn't offer a lot of answers to what's been going down with our heroes in this book...... Sadly, it's because I don't think the writer knows what the questions are.  That aside, there's some fun to be had here, but the continuity is a mess and the dialog feels really off at times. I know I love books when I get to laugh at them, cry at them, rage at them... you get the drill. And this one just made me laugh plenty of times. I love the interactions with the team as a whole. We haven't quite gotten to individual to individual relationships, but hey, if I'm guessing correctly, we have plenty of time! Those awkward moments when the characters don't say anything feels more like a breath of fresh air to me, and plus I get to laugh at those moments. My favorite part so far is when Bart just blurts out that Superboy had a baby. We get the explanation that the family just took him in to protect him, and I'm pleased with it. Bart just impulsively does things, as usual, including that blurting moment, and when he just nab s the opal that should've been difficult. Ah Bart, how I missed you... I'm excited for what Bendis has in store for these guys, and I'm still praying that he doesn't force angst on these guys. If they need angst, it needs to come naturally and with a good reason. more

First issue since #1 that I have liked. I don't like Bendis' Dark Opal though, he was much better in the original Amethyst run.

This book isn't as special as it could be (possibly due to spending more than half of the first arc to (re)introduce the cast), but I don't know, I really enjoy reading it? There's definitely chemistry between the characters, and I really hope the next arc will be better.

Finally the team is here and I am ready for the stories ahead! Issue itself was one of the strongest in the run but overall the story isn’t that great. Art was alright. More things than not felt forced and just had to be, but at same time, enjoyed some of the dialogue.

Bendis seems to have missed the mark, and his Young Justice doesn't really feel like the comic I expected it to be, quality wise. Maybe it's just the Gemworld arc, which I never really cared about, or constant jumping from one thing to another (oh, here's this, oh, and here's a retrospection, oh, and there's that, but let's move on to this again, and that, and other that and this...), but in the end I don't feel invested in what I'm reading. I'd like to like these characters and root for them, but for some odd reason I can't. There are good moments in there, but overall, I think the series could have had a way better start. Let's hope the narrative quality will improve in next story arcs.

"If you have to ask, does it really matter?" Now that we finally got some answers as to how and what, and the Gemworld business is over, maybe this book will become more focused and stop feeling so disjointed and directionless. I hope, because the team itself and their interactions are pretty fun.

This was certainly one of the better issues of this arc. But man, I can't get over some of this dialogue. I counted at least two instances of the dialogue just flat out not making sense. You know what this series needs? An issue where everyone just hangs out and talks. There needs to be an issue where we can truly establish this team and its place in the DCU, but instead they got thrown into a boring Gemworld conflict and now are strung about the multiverse.

Just bleh. I don't care about a single one of these characters any more than I did when this series started 6 issues ago, and now they’re out of one complicated and boring situation and dumped into another. What am I supposed to do? Care?
