Titans #29

Overall Titans #27 was a good read. Although the action sequences were few, this issue seems to be about the team as a whole taking time to cope and figure things out while their stranded. Hopefully they'll take this time to vote for a new leader, because right now it just seems that Donna, Miss Martian, and Steel are all just taking turns at bat depending on the situation. At the end of the book, we see Miss Martian's actual martian body take shape and I'm guessing we're gonna see a Beast Boy versus Miss Martian fight! I'm looking forward to reading the next issue and seeing where Miss Martian and especially Beast Boy's actions leave the team, especially with that alien invasion still occurring on Earth! What it lacks in superheroic action, TITANS #29 handily makes up in terms of characterization. The deep, intricate focus on character behaviors in a time of great struggle feels really powerful, and is only improved upon by the incredible art. Read Full Review

Titans has emerged as a much improved title the worst things get for the team. Stranded puts them in their most challenging situation yet and its looking like another strong story. If youve stopped reading Titans for awhile this is an ideal jumping on issue. Read Full Review

Titans #29 has thrown the group of beaten down super-people onto a world where they can do almost nothing but sit and wait while holding precious knowledge that could help save their world. The struggles each character is facing and how they attempt to persevere on is the real attention holder of the story, as you just want them to get on the better side of things. Donna seems to be punishing herself the hardest, and, in watching this team begin to crumble away without Nightwing, perhaps a moment of strength can shine and she can pull herself up to become the leader the team needs right now. Itll be interesting to see how the Titans pull themselves back from this emotional reel, all the while trying to get off of the odd planet. Read Full Review

These questions and more remain unanswered. Perhaps answers will become apparent soon? Still, Titans #29 adequately positioned the team for more internal drama. While I enjoy this iteration of the Titans, I am growing weary of its lack of resolution. Raven, Donna, Beast Boy have all been left without closure to major life events. None of the Titans are fully in control of their powers or emotions. Perhaps this is what Abnett desires? Or, maybe, it's time to move on. Read Full Review

Titans takes a random trip and stalls again. New readers jumping on for the beginning of the ‘Marooned' arc will be confused, while dedicated fans of the series will find their patience stretched to breaking point. Read Full Review

This issue is a waste of money. The issues that we were already dealing continue rather than any real development taking place. The art is good but even that wasn't enough to keep this issue interesting. The cliffhanger is decent but honestly, you should skip this issue. Read Full Review

I'm loving this teams unique challenges. Post-Nightwing Titans starts to get back on it's feet after the loss of Dick and the DE crossover. The story of these new misfits continues to intrigue. In good form, plenty of emotional turmoil and challenges are bubbling up.

I'm a little late for this one. But the new way the titans was written didn't interest me. This is Kyle who make me look in the sneak peek and your reviews. So thanks to you I brought what I find (29, 30 & 32. I ordered a 31 for in two weeks). I have to tell that I was very surprised by this issue in a good way. I don't like that Garth Hulk out now but that kind of make things more complicated. I would have really loved a story looking alike Star Trek Voyager or lost in space with them after this marvelous issue. Cover - Not really related. It's well done, but I am not fond of it. 1/2 Writing - Very nice. 2/3 Arts - It's the art who definitely convinced me. This is a really good issue. 3/3 Feeling - Well no that could be my titans fo r this era. 1/2 more

This issue had few parts that felt forced. Issue also felt pretty pointless multiple times. It really didn’t have any kind of story to it. So we are seeing them at their worse in a crappy story style, now I wonder how they will pull themselves back together from this mess and be a team that I can actually get behind.

Man, this series sucks. Every character is an unlikeable prick and the writer feels the need to restate that again and again. Shout out to Paul who decided to leave an editor's note saying Raven lost her soul-self after it had already been stated maybe four times. This issue is the definition of spinning wheels. This series cannot get a break. You need new talent on this title, DC. Hopefully, someone good.

Oh my god. My favourite thing about this comic is how the author doesn’t understand how to show how the characters are feeling, so he just has them internal monologue it to us FOREVER. My other favourite thing is how Raven constantly tells us she has no emotions and then reacts emotionally to things. I work with people who have flattened affect and low emotionality, and she is so very not that.
