I don’t think we really know much about what happened to Zod yet other than he presumably lost to generic alien. That said, I find it hard to believe generic alien knew how to break out of the Phantom Zone, but that’s the bendis of it all.

DC Comics News - Derek McNeil
Apr 11, 2019I don't know that I like a lot of the decisions Bendis is making about the direction of the Superman's titles, especially in making Superboy older than he should be. However, Bendis is providing an entertaining tale that is fun to read, so I won't be upset if after he is done playing in DC's toybox, if he makes sure to leave things in the same state he found them. But for now, I am content to sit back and watch where this story is leading. Read Full Review

Comic Book Corps - Tom Zimm
Apr 10, 2019This issue connects Jonathan Kent's travels, the reasons he aged quickly, with the larger Rogol Zaar story which has been taking place in the Superman book. It is emotional and intense and sets up yet another conflict with this ancient nemesis. I highly recommend this book to fans of DC and Superman. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - David Harth
Apr 10, 2019Superman #10 is probably the best of this story arc so far. Bendis is able to craft a narrative that plays to his strengths in precisely the right way. It never gets bogged down by all the dialogue because none of it is superfluous or boring. Peterson's art is stellar, and while Reis has some sporty pages, the last big page is fantastic. This issue takes the story in a bit of a new direction, which hopefully Bendis can pull off. It isn't perfect, but this one is an enjoyable read. Read Full Review

Supergirl Comic Box Commentary - Anj
Apr 16, 2019So there was a lot to like here. I like Jon being resilient and how the love he was raised with helped him. I like the Zaar threat and the mystery that presents. I like how Jor-El was actually a decent guy looking for Jon all these years. And I even like the conversation between the Kent family. I just wish we could have had one deep breath to let the family stick together a little more. But the gas pedal is down. Read Full Review

Apr 10, 2019With the final page promising big things to come, I look forward to what Bendis and company have waiting for me next issue. Even with a bit of a misstep, this story continues to hold my interest and impress in most of the ways I have come to expect. If the plot can straighten itself back out it should have no problems realizing the promise the last few issues have built up for it. Read Full Review

Apr 21, 2020Superman continues to be a key character for me in my life and I've seen and read countless variations on him. I'm definitely enjoying this one as we're not getting a static days in the life of kind of thing and there's a sense of both consequences and forward motion going on in a lot of ways. I like Jon more and more as a character as it goes on but I'm also enjoying the parental aspect as well in seeing how Clark and Lois are handling all that's being thrown at them. It's got a great flow about it, there's a good mix of action, humor, and drama to it that connects well. I'm excited to see just where it goes next with it looking to hit a big spot of action and what it could all mean in regards to Jor-el. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Eric Shea
Apr 10, 2019Jon's back and his story about where he's been is finished........ and it really isn't satisfying and felt like more of a formality than an actual story that Brian Michael Bendis wanted to tell. The art in this issue is decent, but everything about this issue felt forced to get us back to Rogol Zaar and I'm not looking forward to getting back to that world killer. Read Full Review
