If there is one part of the issue that didn't truly click for me, it was this. Why would 'super-hero' Lex dream of this? If he knew then (which it is said he did) that regular Kryptonite can effect humans if prolonged exposure happens, why would he let himself be effected in the past (something said in this issue, a reference perhaps the to K-cancer Lex got in the Byrne era??).  And a synthetic Kryptonite cloud that can kill humans? Is that the best revenge this squad can do to Lex? Still, overall I liked this issue for it's honoring of the past while pushing this fun story forward. Fun art as well. Read Full Review

The return home isnt always welcome for the Man of Steel. The Lex Luthor Revenge Squad makes their final move with Williamson pacing the moves with great writing. Balden, Lokus and Maher construct energetic imagery with big reveals in the closing moments of the chapter. This is one Superman story you wont want to miss. Read Full Review

This was a decent issue though one of the weaker ones of this run. That's the downside to such a strong, enjoyable stint. It's probably time for Williamson to wrap up the Luthor Revenge Squad arc and further expand this new era of Superman soon though. Read Full Review

Superman #11 sets up the penultimate end to Pharm and Graft's master plan to destroy Lex Luthor with great art, several cool moments, and interesting revelations. That said, Williamson's script rushes through a laundry list of twists, turns, and reveals to get to an end that may have caught up with Williamson sooner than he planned. Read Full Review

    The Comicbook Dispatch - StoryBabbler

    Feb 21, 2024

Superman #11 brings the Man of Steel in conflict with the newly formed Lex Luthor Revenge Squad. Based on first impressions, this villain team needs some work. Their membership is a little lacking, and they don't seem all that menacing or formidable against Superman since their only edge is kryptonite weapons. Then there's the big reveals with Lena and Leticia Luthor in this comic. They don't hit like they could because we were just introduced to them a couple issues ago and barely got anything with them, so the reveals fall flat without proper build up and character interaction. However, the art and action were still good, and the next phase of Pharm and Graft's plan is far more interesting than the first half, so next issue should be more exciting. Read Full Review

I never was too big on the multi color Kryptonites as they always seemed mostly like one of the cheesy concepts of the Silver age that I felt they were right to get rid of post-crisis, but this issue actually made it work. The bad guys knew the only way they could win Superman to their cause was to send him into an enraged frenzy. While it's nice to have Lena here Luthor's mother has already worn out her welcome. The biggest "Boo" in this issue was to her claim that she created Lexcorp. But today no straight white man is allowed to accomplish anything like that. It has to be a gay or black one or a woman. I always preferred the story of his parents being drunks he arranged a fatal accident for. All in all it was still a pretty satisfactory more

Superman #11 delivers an exciting and action-packed adventure this week! While the name on the cover may say Superman, the issue is primarily focused on the Luthors (Lex, Lena, and Leticia) and Pharm & Graft's attack on Supercorp. I wasn't initially sold on Williamson introducing Leticia and Lena to the series, but I really like how he played with their dynamics here (especially Leticia's reveal!) and am interested to see how far he goes integrating these characters moving forward. Lena seems like she may be quite integral to however this arc concludes and I'm really interested to see what Williamson has planned for her. However, I'm still not sold on Graft and Pharm as big bads. So far they've been pretty generic, one-note villains more

This was action packed and had a lot of stuff I liked. Also the hubris of Graft coming back to bite him a bit is always nice. Grandma Lex being an a-hole surprises... no one. I enjoyed a lot of this and the little art bits like Lois' crazy eyes when she barges into the room was pretty funny if not accurate to her emotions at the time. While the twist was something you could likely see coming, it does leave Superman in a bad spot and I hope Williamson can write a good ending to the arc. It has been a fun 11 issue ride, with far more highs than lows so I hope this lands well. The reason this doesnt get a higher score, is some of it feels forced and while I enjoy Grafts Hubris back firing, the way it is written makes him come off as dum more

This was a big issue, and I'm really happy we finally got away from the Western time travel bull*sh*t. At first this ish started off kind of slow ad wordy, and wordy in terms of okay I get it lets get on with the story. The biggest turn thing that almost turned me off to this was the art style somehow the art style got worse than before. It's so Disney-fied, so cartoony and some of the characters so exaggerated where it looks like they are holding in a huge amount of piss and shit and are ready to blow up any second. Besides the garbage art style, the story here is what saved this ish for me. After you get through the bland talk of the first few pages, the action really starts when Lex's mother shows her true part in the play of Graft's more

I like going back to explain what happened before Superman's return from the Old West since it seemed abrupt with the appearance of the villains. There is one major error here, the kryptonite gas is all around Superman, weakening him, however, when he's subjagted to red kryptonite, with the gas still there, mind you -- suddenly he just takes off, using super speed as if nothing is wrong. Ooops. That can never happen. No matter how enraged he is, it wouldn't negate the green kryptonite gas. I like the rest of the issue. My Comic Review Channel - https://youtu.be/Y3t73t41xPg

I like the story overall, but using kryptoninte really took the momentum away for me. I'm just over Kryptonite, it's used way too often with Superman. I don't care if it's a new type or whatever. It's dumb and unoriginal and just a plain ass lazy way to make Superman vulnerable. Just make it extinct DC. Please.

Another solid issue. I wasn't all that into the family drama with Lex, but it was still good for what it was. As for the art, Baldeón's work is stronger in certain spots than others, but there wasn't anything bad at all.

Meh, all the build up for this? The story had promise but then falls apart. I don't know they could have shoehorned some more "strong" female characters into the story...6 just seems not forced enough for me. Not only this, in case readers don't get the hint they write just how much better they are than the male characters in the actual dialouge of the book. If you ignore all the social messaging, there is a story in there somewhere if you look hard enough. Overall this issue is where this series hit the wall and broke apart.
