This is the main story of the issue and the one that I wish was longer. Kara's quest for answers has been the main through line of this arc and this deviation takes away from that to a certain extent. I wish there was more in this issue about Kara's discovery, but the pace of the story was well done. Read Full Review

As a holiday special issue goes, this one is very easily among one of my favorites. It has deep action, charm, and introduces a new character and plot lines. It's in keeping with what's going on in the run, whilst giving us the holiday breather we need. Read Full Review

It is a simple, very Christmas message of giving. We have all read stories like this before. So it isn't ground-breaking. I love it for it's sappiness. So not a bad anniversary issue. If only Zor-El could go back to being a good guy! Read Full Review

This issue is a bit odd. Our main story has basically a long fight scene that while entertaining, doesn't really push this story further but perhaps the cliffhanger will give us something good in the future. We also got two smaller stories that were okay. Z'ndr's story gives us a little about his past but I feel like it only helped me get to know the character a little better. Not really anything of real substance. However, I really enjoyed the Christmas story from Dan Jurgens. Usually Christmas stories are a bit dull and cliche and this was was a bit cliche too but maybe I'm just in the Christmas spirit or it melted my Grinch heart, but I really liked it. Read Full Review

The issue contains three stories - the first one continuing the main arc of the series, the second serving as a spin-off to help us better understand who doc Col is, and the third is a short and sweet christmas story. Call it cliche, but I'm sucker for these kind of short stories, especially this time of year, and I welcome it ten times more than weird experiments like Nuclear Winter Special, which while more creative and original conceptually, lacked what makes christmas specials christmas specials. Very happy with this issue - Andreyko continues to deliver the best Supergirl content since... Loeb, maybe?

The main story was pretty well done. The second story is probably the weak link. It just shows us more of Z'nder Kol's character, which could already be easily inferred by the way he's acted so far. It's just sort of bland. The third story was really cute and a little heartwarming. It was completely unnecessary, but still. Overall, this issue was very good.

The main story was really interesting and I can’t wait to see where it goes! Backups were super unnecessary, and I’m knocking off half a point for their existence.

First story: eh okay dialogue, at least we are finally progressing the story I hope! Though got a bit confusing towards the end with her dad and Rogar. How exactly was she having the conversations or were they all hallucinations? If all hallucinations then hopefully she doesn’t fully trust them. Also since when does Supergirl shot lasers out of her mouth. Second story: we get a backstory on Z’ndr and was not bad, could do less narration and more dialogue and have him talk, obviously we is the Star Lord of the Indiana Jones so would have been nice to have him be slick. Third story: a cute Holiday story that when/ if DC does have a legit Holiday issue, would be perfect for it!
