This is a full-on horror comic in ways Mora rarely gets to do, and the subplots play into that as well even Z-list villains like Rainbow Raider have become deadly, creating new powers that allow his colors to affect emotions. The "Terrific Ten encounter dangers that leave scars and losses in its' wake. Waid masterfully weaves in the extended cast to face the drama. Mora and Bonvillain never falter on presenting the darkest elements of the Hellish landscape. Where things lead from here will have readers excited for what's next. Read Full Review

A team book like this amid an event, where most of the main characters have been whisked off elsewhere, has led to some fun creativity. Using a small capture of people who are destined to come to an end and sending them to hell to fight the good fight to get to Neron is certainly a choice. I love the over-the-top absurdity of it, but what absolutely sells it is the artwork from Mora. Just the intensity of the designs for the demons, locations, and general backgrounds is almost overpowering. You can understand why Terry is just kind of lost to things here and has a hard time getting back up as he grapples with this reality. It's a lot of fun and a kind of crazy chaos to wade through, but it keeps moving forward and trying to carry them all along to their destination. Though the story and mission is basically just some random side quest that will have no impact on anything, this was still a decent read thanks to Mora's unbelievable art.

This issue was less effective than previous ones, as it’s not crystal clear to me what Mr. Terrific and his team of time-lost heroes are hoping to do once they catch up with Neron. This tale of heroes fighting thru hell has been told before many times over the last few decades, and the stakes here aren’t particularly high since most of these heroes are just “snapshots” in time of their real selves, and thus completely expendable without any consequences. Hoping next month’s chapter is better. The art, as always, is amazing.
